Happy Monday, friends! And Welcome to the Crafting Organization Week here on Craftaholics Anonymous®! This week I am going to focus on sharing ideas, tips, tricks, and products that can help you tame your craft room, craft desk, craft nook, or craft closet! With spring cleaning in the air {or maybe the nesting bug just bit me! haha}, I thought now would be a good time to tackle this topic.
First, I’m going to talk about one of my favorite organization products from The Original Scrapbox, and then I’m going to share a round up of links for different articles on organizing different supplies, such as ribbon, fabric, etc. AND THEN, there will be a GIVEAWAY at the bottom!! So keep reading!
Craft Desk: EZ View Desk by The Original Scrapbox

One of the first items I would recommend when putting together a crafting space, is a craft desk. A work space where you can spread out and CRAFT!! I love the EZ View desk in my craft room because it holds SO much stuff! It has bins and drawers to hold and organize loads of crafting supplies. Plus it has a fantastic working space on top. I think the size of the work space is good. Its not too big {I can reach all of it while sitting down} and its not too little {I can spread my supplies out while I work}.
The bottom of the EZ View desk is interchangeable so you can get the shelves and bins {like what I have}, a shelf, file drawer, or drawers. That way you can design a craft desk that fits your crafting needs. I also got the extra set of drawers for my desk. This makes my desk a little higher and gives more storage. The height makes it easy to stand and craft at and it doesn’t hurt my back. {I know sometimes I’m in a hurry and don’t have time to sit down, so rather than hurt my beck bending over while I craft, this higher working station is perfect!
I will also point out my crib spring turned inspiration board in the corner. I simply took an old crib spring, spray painted it turquoise and hung it on the wall with nails and wire. Now I use clothespins to hand pictures and tidbits of inspiration.
But the best feature of this craft desk is…..
The See Through Top!

I can see all the supplies stored in the top drawers of my EZ View desk! I like to put my most used supplies in the top {yes, I use Washi tape all the time!! hehe}

I love looking at my colorful collection of washi tape through the top of the desk. I love to organize my supplies by color usually. Because I usually go to my stash of ribbon, fabric, or washi tape, I’m looking for a color. That’s my preference. I know other crafters have a different system that works for them, so find what works best for you and stick with it! If you decide that organizing by size or another characteristic works better for you, that’s awesome! Go for it!

You can see a couple of my bins are almost overflowing….that’s one of my scrap fabric stashes :) Notice that I upholstered my stools so they’re softer on the tushy. A must for any craft marathon! haha Did you see my $3 chandelier that I got at the Habitat for Humanity’s Restore up there? A simple coat of sunny yellow paint and its the cherry on top for my craft room! Love a good, simple makeover like that! Look for small things like that for your craft space that you can add a little spray paint or a simple makeover to add some personality and jazz ! You will find that those small details matter and take a space from okay to AWESOME!

For a project that will be ongoing, I put all the things I think I’m going to need for it in a laundry basket – kind of like getting all the ingredients together before making the recipe. This saves me time mid-project and keeps all the odds and ends secure and together while I’m not able to work on it.
I wish I had that much room! Looking into affordable space savingmoptions.
I like having my things in clear boxes/drawers, as well as hanging from my homemade clip-it-up. I can see everything and am more likely to use it.
I would love to have something like this to help me get more organized. I try to organize with boxes and tins but can’t see in them and forget what is in them. This would be a fantastic addition to my crafting world.

I’m not sure I have a favorite tip… there are lots of things that I’m attracted to – peg boards, hanging clips, jars, baskets, etc, but I’m still searching for what works in my space and with my crafts (mostly fabric crafts). Hence I stumbled upon you… but I LOVE the look of the clear work top.
Craft Organization: I love using spice jars/spice rack for just about anything–you can store all the little tools and embellishments and whatnot with easy access, and it looks so colorful and cute!
I share the studio with my husband so i try to keep everything neat. I love your room!
Wow, I’m in love with your desk. Very inspiring
Having your supplies out and displayed in fun ways makes them more accessible. Use available space under beds above window for shelving- all kinds of room when you start looking!
I LOVE the original scrapbox you have! Your room is AMAZING!!! I enjoy organizing my supplies in sterilite shoe box containers and then label them with vinyl and stack them on book shelves, it helps me stay more organized :)
LOVE this work top!! I can organize and not forget about what I put in the drawers!
I keep my craftm paints and supplies in stackable boxes that are decorated americana. I put a dap of paint on each bottle to find each color easily. I also like using mason jars for buttons and other small beads, etc.
I have been eyeing up the EZ View craft tables for quite awhile, and your craft room is gorgeous! Also loving your cabinets, and since they match I assume they are EZ View as well? Thanks for sharing all these wonderful ideas for updating my room!
Ugg, jealous! Wish I had a crafting room!
My favorite is trick is using pretty and unique utensil jars for desktop storage. One for craft scissors, colored pens, crochet hooks, etc.
I LOVE your scrap room!! My tip is for organizing memorabilia I use a large 3 ring binder with clear sleaves and organize by year and month. Then everything is easy to find when I scrap it!

Very inspiring craft space! I am pinning this to refer to again. Thanks for the giveaway!
My best organization tip is to put things away when you’re done… I dont have a lot of room so I have to keep it clean!
Favorite organization tip/trick is when you get it out – put it back or you’ll never find it again! Organization is KEY – labels are also incredibly helpful!
LOVE your craft room! Can’t wait to use your fabric storage pockets in my tiny space.
I sort all my fabrics by color & label, label, label.
Simply amazing!
Oh how I love to craft and organize! Not sure which I’m addicted to more…..I am looking to assemble a new crafting desk and stumbled upon this! Thanks for the opportunity to win, I LOVE IT!
Ohhh this would be an awesome win. Good luck everyone. Including ME. Having Organization in a scrapbook space is a must. Also I love the baby bed springs on your wall. How crafty is that…
My tip is to label all boxes/containers/jars to be sure to return the items to the correct spot! It helps this run smooth!
Sooooo in love with the craft box!!! Can’t wait to put some of these organization tips to use!!!
Fantastic room and I love the desk!! I seriously need to become more organized! You have definitely inspired me.
I´m very crafty, but I´m a mess. I love the worktop!
Thank you!
I like to use mason jars to store buttons and other small items. It makes it easy to view what’s inside.
I love the worktop
Thank you!
My favorite tip is similar to yours (if not exactly) but clear containers are the best!! I can keep things neat and tidy and still see what is where!
Having cute jars to organize all of those little pieces, like buttons, pens, scraps, etc.
This is a great giveaway! Would love to have this desk top!!
Oh my gosh, I love that worktop/desktop and that would look great on my work table in my scraproom. I love your site and emails just make my day! Thanks for a chance to win and thanks for Scrapbox for being so generous.
I have shelves running along the entire circumference of my craft room–this keeps things accessible, but not taking up precious real estate on my tables!!
My organization is by no means pretty. I just throw things in tubs, some big, some small. I have scissors and things like that in a small bin, crochet supplies in a bigger bin. It’s all bins, all the time and in uncoordinated colors. This definitely inspires me to step it up a notch, or ten!
I like see thru containers so that I can be reminded of what is in my stash. I also like to see and be inspired by the colors. Lining up different color combos is also a great way to break out of your usual color rut.
Betsy in the extremely soaked Seattle suburbs
I love color! All my ribbons, paint, glitter, paper is displayed so that it becomes apart of the decor. My best organization tip is the jetmax cubicle system. I love the different configurations I can work up. I got some at Michaels when they were 50% off but, I most of them scoped out on craigslist and got a steal of a deal.
I adore your craft room, Linda! My favorite part of it is the hanging fabric.
I love to use Mason Jars for simple and cheap organization
i love the idea of hanging the fabrics to see and easy to grab!!
