DIY Pumpkin Planters
by: Lidy from Hello Lidy
Halloween is quickly approaching and we are getting the house ready for the season! If you are anything like me, you’re a sucker for all those gorgeous seasonal decor pieces that are starting to come out. The only thing is, it can get really expensive. So I headed to my nearest thrift store to see what I could find for cheap Halloween decor. Luckily, I spotted two porcelain pumpkin candle holders and decided to transform them into modern pumpkin planters! They were cheap and this project only took a few minutes to complete.
How to Make Modern Jack-o-lanter Planters
Turn thrifted Jack-o-lanter candle holders into sleek, modern DIY Pumpkin Planters using a little spray paint!
Materials
- Thrifted pumpkins (porcelain or plastic)
- Spray paint (in the color you prefer)
- Plant
Directions
1. Gather your supplies.
2. Spray painting your pumpkins.
3. Repeat step 2, allowing each layer to dry completely until you have full coverage.
4. Simply place your plant into its new pot and enjoy! {if your pumpkin is a jack-o-lantern and has openings, you’ll want to use a dark colored pot that fits inside the pumpkin to hold the dirt in.}
Amazing what a little spray paint can do! It totally took these outdates candle holders and brought them into the 20th century. Love it!
This is such a simple way to add that modern touch to the holiday, while keeping things both fun and affordable! Happy Halloween!
XOXO, Lidy
