Hey Craftaholics Anonymous® readers! Its Jessi here from Practically Functional. I have a super quick and easy fall craft to share with you today! I found some extra mason jars laying around the other day and thought “These could be so cute if I gave them a little makeover!” So I did! With just a few stickers and a quick coat of spray paint, these plain mason jars became super cute fall candle jars.
Fall Leaf Mason Jar Luminaries
These candle jars are so easy to make, and you can make them for any holiday or season, or just to match the colors of your decor! You can use snowflake stickers and white spray paint for Christmas, or flower stickers and bright colors for spring; they’re so versatile!
Fall Mason Jar Luminaries Tutorial
Here’s what you need:
- plain mason jars
- stickers, or adhesive vinyl and something to cut it with (scissors, an X-acto knife, a Silhouette cutting machine, a Cricut, etc.)
- painter’s tape
- spray paint
I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut adhesive vinyl into the shape of maple leaves, but you can use scissors or an X-acto knife if you don’t have a cutting machine. Or you can even use regular stickers!
Place the stickers on the jars, and cover the threads with painter’s tape so you can put the lids back on later. (Or you can skip this part if you don’t plan to put the lids back on!)
Turn the jars upside down and give the whole jar a light coat of spray paint. You only want to paint the outside of the jar, so be sure your jars are upside down before you start painting!
Once the jars are dry, carefully remove the stickers and tape from each jar, and you’re done! Put a tea light candle or votive candle in each jar, light them, and enjoy!
