Announce Pregnancy

This is how I told my hubby last fall that we were expecting Baby #3 {due in June!} and it was hilarious! I put the “If I’m going to get fat, SO ARE YOU!” saying on a bag of Mini Snickers {get it?} and handed it to him as soon as he walked in the door from work. He looked at it for a few seconds, {which seemed like an eternity!} before he processed what I was telling him. Seconds later, when he caught on to what I was telling him, he thought it was so funny! And loved his special treat. It was a really fun moment for us! Our 2 other boys were like, “What? What’s going on?” {we waited a couple weeks to tell them because we knew they would tell all their little friends and we didn’t want the news to get out until I was a further along}

You could put this on the person’s favorite treat or whatever you’d like! I thought the snickers made it slightly more funny….maybe its just me….But it was definitely an effective way to announce pregnancy!

I thought this was a super fun and easy way to tell your spouse or loved ones that a cute little baby is on the way.

    Linda,

    My husband and I weren’t susposed to be able to have children. I have a hormonal imbalance and was told the conception would be basically impossible and Jim was told that he was practically sterile. I was on birth control pills for regulation purposes and once we got the results of Jim’s test back I threw them away. If pregnancy isn’t an option why worry about regular periods, right? SIX weeks later I found out I was four weeks pregnant. So much for expert medical advice. My daughter is now seventeen and Jim and I have not been able to have anymore. So much for expert medical advice. (Yes, I meant to say that twice.)

      Stupid me!!! I told Jim after I took a home pregnancy test and it came back positive. I plain old didn’t feel right and my sister advised my to take one. I gave Jim a card that I found at Walmart that said “Congratulations! You DID it!” and a pair of baby shoes that I wrapped up as a present.

    I took the test on Father’s Day so the next day I did a blog post where I made a word scramble to reveal what my oldest had gotten her dad for Father’s Day and then did a picture puzzle (where you see 2 images and have to put the answers together to get the answer) for people to figure out what I had given him. It was a picture of a Bay (which I named Second Bay) and a Bee so it was Second BayBee. Everyone thougth it was too cute.

    This is so cute! I had always dreamed of all of the fun ways to tell my husband we were pregnant, but when we had to go the infertility dr. route, he found out via text message while he was in a work meeting because he know that my bloodwork appt. was that morning & couldn’t wait to find out! I hope that next baby comes a little easier and I can do something fun like this!

    BIG congrats on baby #3. I am so excited for you!! And summer babies are so much fun because you can actually leave the house!! I hope it all goes well for you!

    Thank you for your postings. You asked about other ways to announce pregnancy.
    When pregnant with my first child my husband and I prepared 2 gift boxes, one for each of our mothers. Each held a rose and a rattle. A card was attached. “A rose for the woman for carried me (my husband), a rattle for the child I now carry.”

    When we found out we were pregnant with our first child (a fertility baby), my husband told his brothers by saying that I had earned a nine month fat pass. This was only funny considering I have never had weight issues, eat healthy, and jog regularly.

    I’m cranky about the pregnancy = fat bit so I’d put ‘big’ ‘enlarging’ ‘becoming fluffy’ or some such thing. My son & DIL put a shirt on their firstborn “Big Brother” and waited to see who figured it out. I saw it and thought it was a hand-me-down from her sister! Yeah, a brand new t-shirt. Gramma’s so clueless! The same for #3, they gave photos of their 2 kids to everyone with a poem about playing with another one & I was clueless. Maybe I’ll get it for #4! It is such a game for them.
