What better way to show your kids you love them than to make some Valentine crafts for kids with them?? I love spending time with crafting with my kids! It so fun fostering their creativity and encouraging them to explore and be creative. They get so excited to show me what they’re making and tell me all about it. I love it! When they’re done with their project, we hang up their art work on our Masterpiece wall. Then when daddy gets home, they proudly show him what we made. I think helping kids be creative is so important! So I wanted to share some easy and fun Valentine crafts that are meant for the kiddos with you today!
Valentine Crafts for Kids
Here are some really fun and easy kid approved Valentine crafts for your littles! I had fun making these with my boys and they were a hit! I hope you’ll take a few minutes and try these Valentine Crafts for kids out with your cuties!
Cupid Arrows Craft
These are SO easy! Cut out some hearts in cardstock {I used my Epic 6 die cut tool and a small heart die cut. but scissors or an exacto knife work great too!}, then cut a small slit in the middle of each heart using a paper trimmer or exacto knife. Give your kiddos a straw for each heart and have then slide one end through the slit. Then give them a few pieces of 6″ ribbon to tie on the other end and ta-da! They made the cutest little cupid arrows! You could make a whole quiver full of these arrows in minutes! My boys absolutely loved playing with these arrows!
Mystery Valentine
If you’re looking for a last minute DIY Valentine idea for your kids to make for their friends OR for an activity for a Valentine’s Day kid party, these Mystery Valentine’s are the perfect way to go! Hand out white cardstock hearts {again, I used my Epic 6 and a large heart die cut but scissors or an exacto knife work great too!} and white crayons. Have the kids write Valentine messages to their friends. Then let the kids exchange their valentines and give them paint brushes and water colors to “decode” their secret Valentine message!
*TIP: If possible, have them go over the letters in their message twice so the white crayon is nice and thick to stand out after painting.
Candy Box Monsters
My boys are really into monsters right now, so these little candy box Valentine Monsters were a huge hit! I cut out 2.5″ x 5″ strips of red card stock to wrap around the candy boxes {you may need to adjust this to fit your candy boxes. we used Starburst jelly beans}. Since my kids are little, I put the strips onto the boxes for them. If your kids are older, I’m sure they could do this step themselves! Then supply glue, googley eyes, paper monster teeth and bows {I free handed these really quick!} and let the kids decorate them as they want! The girl monsters got bows in their hair and the boy monsters got bow ties!
