Happy Monday! What do you do with the few awkward weeks after Christmas? Do you do a winter mantel or do you go from Christmas decor straight to Valentine’s Day? Well, I like to put up a few winter decorations on my mantel for a few weeks into January while I put together my Valentine mantel. {check out last year’s winter mantel here} Ok, so I like to go all out with my V-day mantel! Its an important holiday to me and so it takes me a couple weeks to put it together. {And I have some really awesome plans for this year!}
Anyways, here’s the simple Winter Mantel I put together for this year.
Winter Mantel
My theme was icy blue. I used different shades of blue and turquoise. I added some sparkle and shine with touches of metallic.
Love my wood snowflakes!
This cute trinket box is one of my favorite aspects of this grouping. The intricate detail and glass knob are perfect! I found it at Hobby Lobby.
Gotta love a small chalkboard to write little messages on. Gah! Chalkboard!!! Love it. Davis teased me for buying the silver urn at Target’s after Christmas sale. But hey, its ridiculously cute! Love how its slightly distressed and totally awesome. {PS don’t look too closely or you’ll see me behind my tripod snapping pics in the reflection! haha}
Some of you may remember this adorable pair of 2×4 wood snowmen from last year. They are really easy to make! Some of you emailed me and told me about making them with your kiddos. That’s awesome! They are a fantastic kid craft!

I love this look – I just used this color combination in my renovated lower level (basement). I also bought two of those mercury class tall vases you show (at HomeGoods) for my holiday mantel and am trying to incorporate them into a look for after the holidays – this has inspired me.
Thank you,
Gerrie
Beautiful! I love the idea of decorating for winter, it takes away the sting of taking down the Christmas decorations!
Thanks, Anna! I’m so glad you stopped by today!

Really pretty. Love that turquoise trinket box!
I love it. Simple, but beautiful. Thanks for the inspiration.
AHHHH!! That so just helped me! I was having a mantel issue — an open space directly in the middle and the snowflakes would be perfect!
Awesome, Chris!! Glad it inspired you! Thanks for stopping by today!

Love it! I don’t decorate my mantle but my kitchen window instead. I’m planning Valentine’s Day right now.

Where are the snowflakes from?
Hi Jess,
I bought 2 of them about 6 years ago at Tai Pan. I got the one on the left at Target right after Christmas this year. Thanks for stopping by today!

I love the blue & white. I didn’t even do a Christmas mantel this year. I need to change it up soon.
So clever!!!!
Hi, Linda
I just love this look on your mantle. Keep warm.

Thank you, Vanessa!!
Oh yes, I do love Vday, but I’m all about the white of winter after Christmas. I recently made some salt trees to put up this month. (http://ccmcafee.blogspot.com/)
That little aqua jar is just delightful!!!
You’re REALLY making me wish I had a mantel…I guess I should at least find a large shelf so I can start doing cute themed things like this!
The mantle looks great. I love incorporating snowflakes into decor for winter! Now, if only I could get some snowflakes outside here in VA…
Thanks Shannah! It seems like we usually get snow in March here in VA! ;) {fingers crossed we get a little this year!} Thanks for stopping by!
