Ok, now that its fall, I can post my newest DIY Halloween Wreath Tutorial, right?! Yay!! Halloween is only like 37 days away…. Not that we’re counting or anything. ha!
Halloween Skull Marquee Wreath
So I found this fabulous Skull Marquee at a local home store and I fell in love with it. I just wasn’t sure how I’d use him. And then I remembered I had bought these Giant Silk Flowers on clearance last spring for $1.60 each. And I knew it was a match made in Halloween Heaven! Skulls and black flowers just go together. Am I right or am I right? So this is my Halloween Skull Marquee wreath that is super easy to make!
The best part is, the skull marquee is battery powered, so I can turn the lights on on Halloween night to glow in the dark! How cool is that?!
The black and white stripe ribbon was the perfect addition to this wreath! Its both functional to hang the wreath and it adds a pattern to the wreath as well as a layering effect.
He’s a rather pleasant skull, isn’t he? I like that he’s not crazy scary. I’m not into gore and guts.
Halloween Marquee Wreath Tutorial
Supplies:
- 1 Large Wire Wreath Form
- 7 Giant Black Silk Flowers
- Hot Glue Gun
- 1.5″ wide Black and White Stripe Ribbon
- Skull Marquee {I found mine at Kirklands}
- Twine or Thin ribbon
- Scissors
- Remove the flowers from their stems. Mine twisted off rather easily.
2. Hot glue the flowers around the wire wreath form making sure to secure them well. {use this trick to get rid of hot glue strings!}
3. Use twine or ribbon to make a loop in the marquee sign’s hanger.
4. Tie the ribbon around the wire wreath form to secure marquee sign.
5. Use 2-3′ of ribbon to hang your wreath on your front door!
I love the classic black and white look for Halloween! Add some orange pumpkins or jack-o-lanterns and instantly festive Halloween front door decor!
