For those interested in crafting to help those affected by last week’s events, the Connecticut PTSA is collecting all kinds of snowflakes to welcome Sandy Hook students back to school. See below for more details.

Snowflakes for Newtown

When school resumes for Sandy Hook, it will be in a new building. Parent-volunteers are working to ensure that the students are welcomed back by a winter wonderland with the entire school decorated with as many unique snowflakes as possible. We encourage senders to be as creative as possible, remembering that no two snowflakes are alike. Please make and send snowflakes by January 12, 2013 to the Connecticut PTSA address

This is such an elegant wreath, and you just don’t say that too often about wreaths. I really love the simple, minimal appeal!

Thanks for posting about the snowflakes for Newton… I will quill some and send them on… My heart breaks every time I think about it.

    Hugs,
    Antonella :-)

I know this is a “general” crafting site, but from what I heard the snowflakes do not need to be paper. They could be any medium – including knitted or crocheted.

I really want to make this!!! Where can I buy the pearls?? Every store I go to has few per package and they are kind of expensive….(I’m a college student on a tight budget!) Thanks!!
