I wanted let everyone know that I am withdrawing from the SYTYC competition. Someone accused me of turning it into a popularity contest after I asked my readers to simply cast their vote in this week’s challenge. I had thought very carefully about my wordage, but I guess it somehow came out wrong and offended someone. That was not my intention at all!! The voting had just barely started and it was anybody’s game and so I was encouraging my readers to vote.
I am so very sorry to anyone that I offended or upset. I sincerely did not mean to. I wish all the other talented crafters in the competition good luck and wish you each the very best. You are all great girls and it’s been fun competing with you.

Hi! I'm Linda, the craft addict behind Craftaholics Anonymous®, a craft blog. Crafting is cheaper than therapy, right? When I'm not DIYing something, I can be found taxiing around our 4 crazy kids or working out. Or shoe shopping... because you can never have too many shoes! Happy crafting! ♥

I'm so sorry that someone has said something to make you feel like you had to withdrawal. Wishing you blessings!
Linda I am so sorry that happened!
You are awesome and you don't need a contest to let you know what we already know!
I am so sorry! Sometimes I wish that everyone would just play nice!! Not look for things to get upset about in life. It really isn't worth all the stress!
And I am sorry that you pulled out of the competition! I was looking forward to seeing all of the great things you would have made!!!
that's lame that someone said that. Everyone promotes themselves, and it's natural to do so, and even takes courage! I still love seeing your projects and posts… :)
Some people in my opinion are WAY TO UP TIGHT! this is your blog hun, you do and say what you want. If someone doesn't like it, then they should click away! ;) Jenn
That sucks that 1) someone took everything SO seriously and 2) that you felt that way. It is too bad that you had to withdrawal but I never follow that, but I do follow you. Just saying! :)
That is so obnoxious! Dana always reminded people to pop over and vote!
I'm sorry to hear that. I liked your stuff! But I'll still follow your blog. You should change your mind and keep going. :) Seriously!
Wish you hadn't withdrawn. :( You are totally awesome and so talented!
bummer! you weren't trying to get votes for yourself, just promoting the competition!! maybe you and the host of the competition can reconsider? It is such a shame to lose you.
Really? I didn't feel like you were asking us to vote for you- just to go and vote. And actually, I think I might have voted for someone else.
I hate to hear this, I'm so sorry someone made you feel that way. I'm pretty sure all the other competitors tell people to "go vote". You're awesome either way which is why I follow your blog, twitter & facebook (now I sound like a stalker! ha).
As a withdrawer myself, I completely agree with your decision!
Keep your chin up, girl. People can be harsh.
Don't worry, we know that you didn't mean whatever you said to come out that way.
The internet is so hard to interpret sometimes.
Linda-I am very sorry to hear this. You know I have dealt with my share of MEAN people on the net. We have to remember that the internet is a thing and not a place. We love our bloggy friends but people can be insenstive and cruel. I am glad that you posted this and know that we support you in every way possible! You are incredibly talented and we see that with all of your blogs!
That is awful. I think you are wonderful.
BOO!
That is ridiculous! I can't believe someone complained about it. All contestants have done that on their blogs..telling people to go vote….
BLAH! I hate annoying stupid people like that. I am sad you withdrew. I love seeing things you create! You should still play along, show up that complainer ;)
Oh no!!!
Keep pluggin away at what you're doing. You're blessed with many talents and a beautiful family…
Big huge bummer! I'm sure everyone will miss you over there. I sure will!!
I'm so sorry that that happened! As others have said, keep your chin up and move forward. You are a wonderful crafter and I appreciate and am inspired with all your posts and info and tutorials…I follow you on FB too :)
Keep up the wonderful work!!!
Erin
I'm sorry someone was so nasty :( There's no need for it. Close the blog if you don't like what you see!
That is awful…I am so sorry to hear that.
Don't give in to silly people like that. You did nothing wrong!
Boo to mean people. Your readers know you're great. You don't need an online craft competition to tell you that. ;)
Thats so lame!!!! Who cares? We will vote for you anyway!!!
Linda, I am so sorry to hear this!! It sounds to me, maybe someone is threatened by your talent!! Keep on doing what you love…you bring such joy & inspiration to all of us!! Hugs to you!!
Sorry some miserable person had to spoil your fun. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE that participated last round encouraged their readers to go and vote. Why should it be any different for you? I'm sad to see you go, but I'll still be looking for tutorials and cute ideas here.
I wish people would mind their own business. I hope you will reconsider. I love sytyc
Linda, don't let party poopers rule the game. It just encourages ego-swelling.
Last go-round I read all the time people encouraging their readers to go, and often times, I didn't vote for the projects that were obviously theirs because I didn't like it as much as someone else's. Simple as that.
Please, stay in the game! If you withdraw, we will get one less week of viewing crafty projects. How sad is that for us??? :(
Linda that is so sad someone would say that. Most of the blogs I read encourage their readers to vote. You are so crafty and I love your blog.
-Crystal
Its really sad to see that someone felt so insecure about their place in the competition they had to say something to you to make you feel the same way. Its only natural to feel pride in being apart of something like that…however I don't think you were suggesting that everyone should vote for you. It seemed to me that you were just promoting the contest. Don't let this get you down and don't take it to heart let it go….and CRAFT ON!
I was so excited you were in it. Plus we don't know who is doing which craft, so unless you tell us which is yours, you can't exactly cheat. Anyway, I'm happy I will still be able to catch your awesome crafting skills on your blog every day instead of just once a week! Keep the goodness rolling, Linda! :)
Don't withdraw!! You didn't do anything that the other competitors haven't done!
Boo to mean people!!!! It's so hard when one rotten apple spoils the whole barrel!! Hang in there!
Linda,
I am so sorry!! I have had comments like that. I didn't feel you came across as trying to get people to vote for YOU, just to vote!! I think you shouldn't withdraw because of what this one person said. Maybe this person was having a bad day – that is what I tryed to think when someone wrote something on my blog. You are doing GREAT!! And you can't please everyone!! Even though we do try:)!!
I could be really mean in my comment right now (not to you, but to the other person.) Every person should tell viewers to go vote. It's ridiculous to not promote the contest that you are in. The only way I see it as cheating is if you put a picture of your project on your blog. How am I supposed to know which projects was done by each blogger? Ridiculous! I don't want you to drop out, but if that is what you feel like you should do, I support you. Your talented and unique. Who cares if you win that or not? I just want you to keep blogging!!! You rock!
Umm…I'm actually keeping track of other people in the competition, and they all are saying the same thing. And all the competitors in the LAST competition did the same thing. Weird that they would be offended…
I really don't think you should withdrawal!
get in there and give it all you have got. Silence is golden but sometime's it's just yellow, Dont be yellow, let you voice and talent's be heard and seen.(YOU GO GIRL).
1. I am very bummed you decided to not stay in it :(
2. I follow a few blogs that competed last go round and A. they ALL sent people to vote and why wouldn't they!? More often than not I think most people could guess anyways by the style of projects and their kids in pics. Or maybe I just stalk too many blogs?? ;)
3. People can suck. We all love you and your stuff so forget them! We will play nice here :)
Sorry you had a negative experience with it!
Sorry about your experience! I too followed the last round & all the gals (well, all the blogs I visited during that time!) sent people to the website to vote. You have to do what you think is right, so I totally understand!
Hun, it is YOUR blog, so your priviledge to say what you want when you want. If someone doesn't like it they don't HAVE to read. MAN some peope.
Love and hugs to you and keep doing what you want and what you're good at girly.
I wish you hadn't felt you needed to do this. I completely understand, and though I don't want to be a broken record, I agree with the other comments made here. Sorry to see you leave but it doesn't change the scope of your talent and the fact that your one of my faves.
My dear! You are the crafting queen! If someone thinks you were making it a personality contest then that means they were jealous because obviously they have no personality. You shouldn't let what others say or do affect you. You are doing what you love and are so very talented. Always stay true to yourself and to heck with the naysayers. They will always be there, but we don't have to give them any acknowledgement. Take care and keep doing what you are doing! Best wishes, Tammy
I am so sorry to hear about this! You are fabulous.
((hugs))
Jen
I echo all the sentiments stated here. I say don't withdraw…one person's opinion is not worth it. You should do the competition and that is that!! I was looking forward to seeing what you would do. As well as the others'. Come on girl…put your name back in.
Hugs
SueAnn
Well I still love your stuff, but way to take the high road!
I hope that is not the only reason you are pulling out! Clearly, that person never read any of the blogs from the last go around because those girls were always reminding people to vote…which is good for people like me who tend to forget!
I loved trying to figure out which project was yours each week. I'll miss that.
I am sorry Linda! In my opinion there is nothing wrong with asking people to vote for you!! Even by asking, it doesn't mean that they are going to!
I am sorry! Sometimes people just need to keep their mouths shut:)
I'm so sorry Linda…people can be so cruel. They need to learn to keep their mouths shut sometimes…especially when it doesn't have anything to do with them.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Hugz,
Michele
wow there is always that one crabby person that can't wait to be grumpy. I am sorry they took it out on you.
People are so dang stupid. It's not your fault you rock the crafting/blogging world!!
