my fav piece of furniture

is my french country hutch. we found this beauty at an antique auction when we first moved to Richmond 4 years ago. we got a killer deal too because only a few people showed up to auction that week…. we paid $200 for this solid hunk of wood! we don’t know how old it is or if it is a replica or much about it. someday it would be fun to research the names on the back and see what we can find out about it. but it’s definitely not new! maybe we should take it on Antique Roadshow. haha.
i love the beautiful details and curves.
and the cool hardware.
this hutch goes nicely with my off white country table which is an actual antique replica. i’ll have to post pics of it some time.

That is really a beauty! I love the unique curves on the front and the detailing, too. It's certainly not a style you see every day. You really got yourself a treasure!

I was working out details for refinishing a dresser the other day and imagining the finished result, and I asked my husband if it was bad if I was attracted to furniture… he just laughed and laughed. I love me a good piece of wood!
