moving….{physically, not digitally this time!}

after a long year of Davis commuting 1.5 hours each way to work, 5 days a week, we are FINALLY relocating closer to his job. halleluiah! it’s been a long, tough year for our family having Daddy gone for 12 hours a day.  i am beyond excited to move into a new home…..and decorate it!! wahoo! so excited to move into my new Craft Room. {so excited to use some of the great ideas from you guys!}

moving means i have to pack away my life {all my crafting stuff} sniff sniff. and when i say gear, i mean crafting crap…. and loads of it!……..

you know you’re a craftaholic when you rent an extra moving truck JUST for your crafting supplies!

Hi! I'm Linda, the craft addict behind Craftaholics Anonymous®, a craft blog. Crafting is cheaper than therapy, right? When I'm not DIYing something, I can be found taxiing around our 4 crazy kids or working out. Or shoe shopping... because you can never have too many shoes! Happy crafting! ♥

    the glorious thing about moving is it forces you to downsize and reconsider. can’t wait to see your new crafting space…best of luck with the move!

    Oh I would so hate to have to move. Hubby keeps mentioning moving into an apartment but where would I have room for my crat things. Like you I would have to rent a U_Haul just for craft items. Got a big room in the basement full and it went from that room to another large room. and my sewing room is not even in the basement but up stairs.

    I so would not want to move. But I sure understand why you want to get closer to your hubbies work.

    Good luck with the move.

    After moving last July & still truly getting settled in, I wish you tons of luck, strength, and patience :) It’s soooo much fun getting settled in, redecorating, etc. But I think the mess at the beginning is the frustrating part… the boxes. the paper. the clutter. Gah! ;) Best wishes! Can’t wait to see the craft room!!!

    Linda, my hubby has been commuting for about that far and about that long too, and we are in the midst of moving also… how funny is that?? Thanks for the link to the crafty spaces, I am getting my own craft room in the new house and can’t wait to decorate it. We will have to share pictures with each other once we are finished! Good luck with the move.

    I can sympathize with you-my husband travels a lot with his job so we have weeks sometimes where he’s only home on the weekends. Good luck with your move! It’s one of my least favorite things to do. In the 5 short years that my husband and I have been married, we’ve moved 8 times.

    Moving closer is always good–but with a new baby can be hard. Good luck with the move!

    Enjoy your new home! It will be great for you all to have more time together as a family. It is scary how much crud essential crafting equipment one acquires, and it is all laid bare when it is packed in boxes.

    The last time we moved, I had 3 boxes of clothes and 5 boxes of crafting stuff!! And I know it’s gotten worse. I’m not looking forward to the next move, except that it will be like yours: to our own home, that is closer to work than the current 45 min commute the hubby is making now. Maybe I should be grateful it’s not the hour and a half you’ve been dealing with!!

    I can totally relate to your excitement, and the “crap” thing. I am boxed up and setting on ready to move 4 1/2 hrs. away. I, too, can hardly wait to set up house and decorate. Good luck and post lots of lots of pictures!

    My husband works long days and I know how that one extra hour can be so invaluable. Very happy for you and hope you have a great move!

    Nothing is more important than family and spending time together. I hope that the move goes well and you enjoy setting up your new home together.

    And I thought we were the only ones crazy enough to have a commute that long. My husband has been doing it for 5 years now – wow. It is hard when they are gone so much of the day. Happy moving!!

    My dad used to drive 2 hours each way to work, but he only did it once or twice a week.

    Oh that will so nice to be closer to him! GOOD LUCK with the move! haha and yes sadly I’d need my own moving truck to. ;)

    Congratulations on the move! My hubbs is also commuting about 90 minutes each way (when he misses the traffic rush!). Hopefully we’ll be moving in a month or so… Good luck and have fun in your new home!

    Linda, I’m so excited for you, Davis and your boys. 12 hour days are LONG with 2 little ones at home. THRILLED for the positive changes to come with living closer to Davis’ job. Best of luck with the move!
