Good morning, Crafters! In case you missed my guest post on Kristen Duke’s blog a couple weeks ago, here is the post I shared about decorating with family portraits. You will probably recognize the cute frames from last month’s craft kits. {i still have a few left!}
This fun grouping is in my family room. {ok, so they are the only pictures I have hung in there. shh! still unpacking from our move last summer} These family portraits were taken last spring right before we moved away from Richmond, VA. They are some of my favorite pictures of my boys and seeing them on my wall makes my heart so happy.
And of course, LOVE the whimsical frames! They have so much style and add fun character to portraits {and in other settings}. I painted the wood frames and love how they turned out.
These are my 2 rambunctious boys. {love them to pieces} They have grown so much since these pics were taken. Now the youngest is walking and the oldest is learning how to negotiate and talk his way out of things. haha! Spending my days at home with these cuties is the best. I feel very lucky to be able to stay at home with them.
*Note: That is actually a dark turquoise and not blue on the left. for some reason, my camera cannot get the color shade right. argh. its the same with my door shelf. they’re the same color of paint, but it looks blue in all the pictures.
So how do you decorate your home with portraits?

I LOVE this! How did you hang them? I’m totally stealing this idea its just too cute!
Thanks, Lani! The frames have holes on the back so that they fit over a nail.
take care,
Linda
I would love to try this product because my husband seems to be developing more allergies as he ages. He has some kind of reaction to almost every product I’ve tried – but I’ve not tried this one yet!
I love Clorox Green works because it is eco-friendly and safe to use on sealed granite countertops. …And it actually smells good!
If it will help you feel better – the frame looks turquoise to me! :) I am a table-top person for pictures – on my dresser, bedside table and the antique dresser in my dining room I have a variety of frames with family pictures – some 75 years and older. LOVE decorating with pictures!
I would like to try green works because I have a 3 year old and a husband…enough said. As for decorating with pictures, when we replaced our 100 year old wooden basement door with a newer, more secure steel door I kept the old screen door insert which had 8 little windows in it. I hung it on the kitchen wall and bought some really cute, really strong little magnets from the office supply store. I put pictures of my 3 year old behind the glass, then put one really cute, really strong on the front of the glass and one behind the picture. I use dry erase markers on the windows and the whole thing serves as a message board/weekly calendar/picture frame in the kitchen. Even my 3 year old likes me to write her name on the windows. I love that the pics are protected and I get to bring photos into the kitchen that look a little more sophisticated than the mess on the refrigerator.
These products would be great to try. I love that they “power through grease, grime and dirt without leaving behind harsh chemical fumes or residue”.
I have frames all over our house… I try to change out the holiday frames with last years pictures when I un-load them from the bins!!!
I am in the process of selling my house. Would love to try the green works products to get that deep cleaning done before we put it on the market. Love the frames. I am horrible about getting pictures hung so I need to take this inspiration and get going.
I love the frames. I’d love to try Green Works, because I ‘m always looking for safer products to use in my home.
We are almost in our house a year and I’ve hung less than 10 things. Time to tackle the framed pile!!
