Conversation Hearts Headband Tutorial + Giveaway

My little preschooler loves hearts AND I love Valentine’s Day. So I made her the CUTEST Valentine’s Day Conversation Hearts Headband that we both love! This easy Valentine craft requires no sewing, so anyone can make it.

Conversation Hearts Headband

Do you see the bribery up there?! Yes, a little chocolate always makes pictures easier with a 3 year old!

I used my new Canon TS6020 Printer and check out those vibrant colors it printed!

I didn’t realize it, but her headband reads, “Love you forever, Sweetie.” And um, totally perfect, right?! Love a happy accident!

Valentine’s Day Conversation Heart Headband Tutorial

Supplies:

  • Printable Heat Transfer Paper {I used this kind}
  • Inkjet Printer {I used my new Canon TS6020 Printer, which prints nice and fast and has a sleek, modern design.}
  • Scissors
  • Iron
  • White Elastic Headband
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Craft Felt

Canon printer

  1. First, I printed out conversation heart designs with my Canon TS6020 printer.

This wireless printer is so cool! It prints beautiful colors with a faster print speed and the design is totally rad. Above it is all folded out for printing, but when I’m done, look how it folds up to be very compact {see picture below}.

Love the modern design. Oh and as a crafter, I love that it has the option for rear loading for different materials. Plus there’s a cassette for regular paper. So I use the rear load for crafting and the cassette for regular printing. Which is very handy. There are 4 models in the new TS series. Go check them out here to find your Picture Perfect Match!

2. Then cut out the conversation hearts. I actually used my Silhouette Cameo to cut mine out, but scissors work fantastic as well. {note: the conversation heart designs are from the Silhouette shape library.}

3. Peel off the paper backing.

4. Place conversation heart onto a small piece of coordinating felt and iron according to transfer paper directions.

5. Cut around the conversation heart leaving a thin border of felt. Repeat Steps 3-5 for two more conversation hearts.

6. Then hot glue the conversation hearts onto the headband, overlapping them slightly.

    I reeeeaaalllllllly need a new printer!! Mine doesn’t work with windows 10. I don’t like windows 10, but that is what I have, so I’m stuck with it. With my old computer, I didn’t have any problems, but, like I said, it doesn’t work now. I can’t believe all of the projects that I want to copy, now that I can’t. I would love to win this printer!!

    The printer we have doesn’t do a great job at printing photos, crafts, etc like this one seems to do!

    My old printer gets crooked at the bottom of each page, making pattern printing not work so well. I’d use a new printer to print out patterns for spring/summer clothes for the kids. Thanks!

    My printer never did do color printing well, but it was sufficient…Until my toner cartridges started becoming scarce & expensive, and Costco refills no longer work. I’d love a printer new enough that I can do some fun crafts like this and print in vibrant color with available cartridges.

    Hi! This headband idea is adorable! I’m wondering if you need to glue it a particular way so that the hearts don’t fall off when you stretch the elastic band.

    I’d love a Canon TS Printer since 1) I don’t have a printer at all; 2) I love the low-profile look; 3) besides using the printer for the basics, I could do fun projects like this one and other graphics projects with my kids!

    Thank you for the opportunity.
