Label Art + Handmade Discussion

Happy Tuesday everyone! hope you are having a great week! i have a little project to share that i made, a Label Canvas. i stole the tags and labels off Davis and I’s clothes and hot glued them to a small canvas to create a unique piece of art work. it was really fun to hunt down the labels and see what cool  designs there were.

piecing them together was like a lifesize game of tetrus!! i think that was the most difficult part trying to get them all to fit together. after snipping a few and rearranging a hundred times, i got it to work. i’m not sure where this little canvas will go in our new house, but i think it might be cool to put in Davis’s bathroom. its kind of a masculine look and i think it would be cool to use as the focal point.

I love making handmade items to decorate with in our home but sometimes I like to spurlge and buy handmade items from other crafters. Here’s a fabulous new site I found where you can buy, sell, and chat Handmade: Homemade Simple Marketplace

Great stuff! I love this! I’ve been collecting clothes tags for years and keeping them on a french ribbon board. This is a great idea! I would even frame it if I made one. :)

My favorite handmade creation I have made was my 8ft dining room table. I love it so much. Now there is always room at the table when people come over. I feel like sitting around a dining room table is the heart of the home.

You are so clever! What a great idea. Whenever canvas goes on sale at Hobby Lobby I buy a few just in case a project like this ever pops into my mind! I do generally just paint them though.

I checked out the Home Made Simple Marketplace website and facebook – liked them of course and signed up. I’m could not really figure out a couple of things on the site – what does it cost to sell something (commission) and how to you buy or receive payment for merchandise? Does it go through Paypal? Maybe I was missing something but I couldn’t find answers anywhere to my questions on either site. Could be I’m too sleepy and should try again later in the day!

Did notice some cute items – although I didn’t understand the house for sale or the random pictures of people etc.
