I am totally thrilled to be over here at Craftaholics Anonymous! I adore all of the fabulous flower tutorials Craftaholics Anonymous shares. Linda also deserves a super big {{high five}}; she was chosen as a judge for American Crafter! This is definitely something to be excited about!
My creative juices are certainly flowing for Valentine’s Day this year. I can’t wait to finish up a few more projects that I have in the works. Today, I wanted to share a quick picture tutorial on how you can be eco-friendly by turning veggie/soup cans into Valentine’s.
There aren’t really any rules to making these. You can make them as flashy as you want and even create them for other holidays. I would like to use them as birthday party favors to match a party theme.

These are so cute! I'm going to start saving cans now to use at party favors for my daughter's 1st birthday party in March! Is there anything you do to dull the sharp edges of the can?

These are cute! Does anyone know if a Cropadile would work for punching the holes, instead of drilling? I haven't tried it, but I recall reading that it should work on tin.
Cute! I bet you could line the inside with corrugated paper and it would be cute and cover up any sharp edges. No, I didn't really think of that on my own – I just remembered that Pirouette cookies come in a can with corrugated paper around them. (something like this.

I found those saftey can openers at Walmart for about $10. They really do work & just cuts the glue holding the lid on instead of the can. You can also use pop-top soup cans & cut the lids off, then when you're done filling, put the lids back on & use a ribbon & tape to hold it on. I did it with xmas presents & filled them with jolly ranchers.

These are great! Im gonna make these for my little girl's school friends. What did you use to drill the holes in the cans?
I did this with smaller soup cans & larger spaghetti cans – 9 total. They came out great & the people I gave them to said they loved them. I couldn't find my camera to take pictures but the next time I make I will certainly get some pictures to post here.
