Happy Wednesday! Since we moved into our home last summer, my front entrance drove. me. crazy. Namely my front door. It was mauve…. and all wrong! After some paint, vinyl, flowers, and a little TLC, this is what it looks like today:
Front Door
So much more welcoming! I love it.
Davis gave me that pretty pot of flowers for Mother’s Day. They’ll last a lot longer than cut flowers, for sure!
Welcome welcome!
The final touch was adding a vinyl “welcome” yesterday with the help of my Silhouette CAMEO.
And here is the before picture from the old listing:
Isn’t the color awful??
*We’ve changed the shutters and some of the landscaping as well {that’s a post for another day! still doing some landscaping}.
My Front Entrance
So much better! Crisper, cleaner, and a lot prettier.
happy crafting,
linda

I am waiting for the boys to go camping and surprise them when they come home to a clean, painted front door area! Our door is much like yours. I also want to paint the hardware a brushed nickle color and add color with plants. Love your simple wreath – its perfect!
Prettiful!
Thank you!

Your door looks awesome! I’m getting a new front door tomorrow and will be painting it this weekend. Did you use spray paint or foam rollers to paint? I’ve heard of both and wondered what you used and any tips you had. Thanks!
Thanks Tiffany! We used Purdy brushes to paint our front door black, but have since done other painting projects and would recommend using a high density foam roller. {we painted out kitchen table this way and got a better finish on it} But either way, brush or roller, it will look just fine. If you have a paint sprayer, that would probably give you the best finish, but we don’t have one, so we did the brush thing.
hope that helps! let me know if you have any more questions, just let me know.

This is sooo gorgeous! Love how your door turned out. Love the color, love everything. AND I absolutely love that porch!!!! I would LOVE to own a home with a porch like that. One day…if its in God’s plans. In the mean time yours makes me very happy to look at.

Hi Linda!
I saw your reply. Thanks for the good wishes. So sweet! I do own a home but I meant I wanted a home with a porch like yours!!! Houses with porches like that are not common here in Miami :( but I *do* have a beautiful backyard, hehehhehh :)
BTW those blue eggs were amazing!!!
LOL I totally misunderstood that. Sorry! I’ll bet you have a pool in your backyard being in Miami! lucky!! ;)
Love the door..it will be so easy to decorate for all seasons! Where did you find that awesome wreath? I am looking for something simple like that for my door.
Thanks, Kari! I found it at Tai Pan when I was in Utah. It was like $14 or something. Thanks for stopping by!

Your front door looks wonderful! But I have to ask… where did you get blinds for your sidelights (on either side of your door). We have a similar door and I’ve been trying so hard to find something other than my sheer curtains for the sidelights. I never thought of blinds! Did you find them that size or have to special order them? :)
Hi Christine! They actually came with the house, so I’m not sure. They are Graber brand and I love that they are attached at the top and bottom, so the kids can’t swing them around. Hope that helps!!

The front entrance looks fabulous!!!! I love it, The color is perfect!

I put a “welcome” vinyl sign on my door a few months back…I LOVE it especially since I live in a neighborhood where almost every house looks the same. Right now I am debating whether I should put our house numbers on the window above our front door or if that will be vinyl overkill :) And I LOVE potted flowers by the front door! Beautiful makeover!
Love it!! Where did you get that wreath? I am slightly mesmerized by it.
Hi Elle,
Thanks! I got the wreath at Tai Pan in Utah when I was there for a blogging conference this spring.
