its projects like this awesome vinyl bird canvas wall hanging {for our master bedroom makeover} that make me *love my Silhouette!!* the new Silhouette Studio software makes it so much easier to cut large projects with the Silhouette than the old software.
this bird was the perfect addition to the room! birds are still so popular and fun. who can resist a cute little birdie?
to make my vinyl bird canvases, i spray painted four 8″x24″ canvases with gray spray paint.
i then cut out the vinyl with my Silhouette in four sections. to do this, i used the drawing tool in the software to create 3 horizontal cut lines on the image to split it into 4 sections. when you transfer the image to the canvases, i recommend having a second set of hands to make sure everything is straight. {thanks for helping babe! :}

I love the bird vinyl project you have – I have the Silhouette and the same image- but I cannot find detailed instructions on how to enlarge an image and use the cut/draw tool- your tutorial peaks my intersest but does not give me enough instuction- can you direct me on this? – I also looked at the Silhouette Tutorials and did not find it there- I’m ready to do the project but don’t know how! thanks I really appreciate it-

I’m so sorry I am just now responding! We moved a couple weeks ago and I am still trying to catch up with everything. To resize an image in Silhouette Studio, simply click on the image {on one of the cut lines} to select it. Then, move your cursor to the corner where there are small boxes and your cursor will then change to be at an angle. Left click to grab that corner box and move your cursor out and the image should enlarge as you move your cursor. When the image reaches the size you want, release the corner box and the image will then stay at the new size. Does that help? i do not yet have the silhouette, tho hoping down the road…i bought a cricket at a garage sale, but have yet to try it…scares me a bit…that’s just me…then i try it and will love it! anyway, i was wondering if you ever consider cutting and selling a vinyl piece for someone like me from a pattern…i love the bird…but am also looking for something for my family room mantel over the fireplace…anyway, just thought i would ask…thanks for all your tutorials!
