this is round 2. i was given this shirt during my first pregnancy from a friend, but never wore it because it is very large and had no shape. i think it looks like a scrub top…..well, after a small run in with my sewing machine and a pair of scissors, this boring maternity tee was definitely not the same.
here it is on. i made it so that as the belly grows, the ruching at the bottom will bring the shirt around the belly and make it look less like a tent.
here’s the neckline ruffles i added with some scraps. notice the new shape of the sleeve. aww. so much better.
here’s the 5 second run down of what i did:
- took in the sides.
- reshaped the sleeves.
- added ruching to the bottom.
- added ruffles to the neckline using the scraps from taking in the sides.
Davis has a conference this weekend for work that we’re all going to. i’ve been working hard on something special for it. i was hoping to post pics of it today, but i’m not quite done. so i’ll share it next week.
have a great weekend!!
