DIY Cupid’s Arrow Valentines
by: Linda
If you haven’t noticed, we’ve been sharing lots of DIY Valentine ideas on here this week! I believe this is #3 for the week haha! {You can check out the Romantic Kisses Valentine and Robot Valentine here.}
Today I’m sharing super easy and cute Cupid’s Arrow Valentines. This is a fabulous option for a no-candy Valentine. I used some cute paper straws {love those things!} and some of Scotch® Expressions Packaging tape in Confetti and Red Scroll.
Supplies:
- Scotch® Expressions Packaging tape in Confetti and Red Scroll
- Paper Straws, 1 per Valentine
- Ribbon or Lace
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scrapbook paper
- Scissors
- Hole Punch
- Die Cutter with heart die {optional, you could cut these by hand}
Here is a fabulous picture tutorial on how I made these easy Cupid Arrow Valentines!
- Using your selected scrapbook paper, run it through the die cutter and cut 2 hearts per cupid’s arrow you are making. {instead of using a die cutter, you could trace and cut by hand your hearts}.
- Pinch one end of each paper straw between your fingers to flatten it.
- Sandwich the flattened end of the straw between the 2 hearts and hot glue together.
- Tear off two 4″ strips of Scotch® Expressions Packaging Tape and sandwich the other end of the paper straw between the two strips of tape. Press together.
- Using scissors, make small cuts into the tape towards the straw in the center to create a feathered look.
- Write a love note to your Valentine, fold in half, punch a hole in the top left corner and tie onto the middle of your arrow using lace or ribbon.
You can hand these out to friends, family, neighbors, loved ones, etc. These are a fabulous non-candy, non-food Valentine option!
