Bathroom Floor Makeover

I had the pleasure of working with Home Depot on a DIY floor makeover in our kids’/guest bathroom. We got to try out some new Luxury Vinyl tiles that look like tile and can be grouted. We got the look of tile, but with a lot less work and a lot less money! Oh and it was a lot quicker too.

This is obviously the After shot of the bathroom! For the tutorial on how we installed this easy and pretty flooring + see the BEFORE picture, click over to the Home Depot blog here.

The luxury vinyl tiles we used were fantastic! All you need is a utility knife to cut them. We are fairly beginner DIYers and we felt this flooring is perfect for all skill levels of DIYers. We are very proud of how great it turned out and are happy with the quality of the vinyl tiles. The only thing I would change about them is add more patterns and variations in the tile designs. We only had 2 tile patterns to pick from, which made it kinda difficult. But we were able to spin the tile designs around to disguise this.

With the temperatures rises and spring on the way, its time to get those home improvement projects going! :)

Happy DIYing!

I most definitely love the result of your DIY project. I have a few questions if I may ask. How long did the project take and was it a difficult thing to do?

No, it was really easy to do and took only a couple basic DIY tools. It took us probably about 6-8 hours to do.

We just had a bunch of Luxury Vinyl Tile put in our house that we’re getting ready to sell. It looks great! It’s a wood-look plank tile. I really like the stone-look tile that you chose too! What I love is that it’s waterproof. So it can go in the bathrooms and kitchen and I don’t have to worry about it getting wet. Win-Win! We’re having Home Depot put in the carpet. I hope it goes well.

I love what you did with the floor tiles–great job! I was really drawn by your vanity, though. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for! Did you install it and if so, would you share where you got it? Thank you!

Thanks, Holly! The vanity was put in by the builder. Its actually two single vanities put together to make a double vanity. Not sure if that helps!

I saw this picture on the Home Depot blog and thought what you did with the floor was awesome, but I fell in love with the shelf hanging on the wall with S hooks. Did you make it and if so is there a tutorial out there on how to make it? It has a nice shabby chic look to it. So glad I found your blog!

Thanks, Barbara! I actually did not make the shelf. It was made by Country Corner goods on Etsy. I love it!

Wow, looks so beautiful. Where did you get the shower curtain? I would love to buy one. Thanks.

I got it from World Market :)

Looks awesome! If you had to estimate a cost (I know it was a Home Depot partnership, but rough estimate) how much would you say it cost for all the supplies? Thanks!
