i have someone for you to meet today…… Steve the Spider! he’s round, he’s fuzzy, and he’s ridiculously adorable!

needless to say, he’s a hit at our house! he’s so cute dangling from my mantel. this little guy is the perfect addition to our Halloween decor. and what’s really fun about Steve is…… he is made from a pom pom! i made him just like my t-shirt pom poms except i didn’t have a black shirt i wanted to cut up, so i used 1/4 of a yard of black lycra. {you know that swimsuit material….well, its cheap this time of the year!} i then hot glued some big googly eyes and pipe cleaner legs on and ta-da! you have a fuzzy little spider!

don’t those big googly eyes just make you melt?? who said halloween decorations had to be scary?
he’s also super cute sitting on the mantel keeping an eye of everyone. {and out of the reach of some curious toddler hands. ha!}
make your own pom pom spider! check out this tutorial on how to make a pom pom
*wouldn’t these spiders be SO perfect for a halloween party??*

Sooo cute! I love that fabric for this project too – just the right amount of sheen and how the fabric kinda curls up a little…..isn’t it great when you discover something by accident! I keep seeing these super cute projects, but I’m running out of room in the house to put them! LOL! Thanks so much for sharing!
Great idea!
This is so cute.
Linda, that is so cute! I wish I had a toddler around the house still that gets excited about that kind of stuff:) My kiddos are so big. Enjoy it while it lasts!!
The cutest spider I’ve ever seen — I definitely wouldn’t mind one that looked like this in my house, unlike the usual creepy crawlies we sometimes see :-) Great idea!
oh Linda, you and your cute Halloween decor!
so, so, very cute! and probably the BEST use of lycra ;-)
LOL i agree, Liz! sometimes lycra goes in places it shouldn’t! ;o)
thanks for stopping by!
happy crafting,
linda
