Christmas Mantel

happy monday, crafters! i’m excited to show you my mantel all decorated Christmas!
christmas mantel

this year for Christmas, i decorated with lime green, dark green, red, with accents of turquoise……

so here’s a run down of what you see on my mantel: {left to right}

  • scrappy fabric christmas banner from our December craft kits {we sold out in just a couple days! wow. we will not be restocking them. sorry!!}
  • fabric ruffle christmas trees {click here for the tutorial}
  • Believe glass block. good ol vinyl craft.
  • faux red berry twigs. love these!
  • christmas printable in white frame {from eighteen25}
  • red and lime green glass ornaments in a glass hurricane vase from Ikea
  • red berry wreath on wreath stand

and for the record, i hate the brown granite on my fireplace! crossing my fingers i can convince davis to let me change it….

christmas crafts

did i ever tell you i like to decorate with fabric? well i do. i feel like its a fairly inexpensive way to add color and pattern to any room…..and i’m sort of a fabric hoarder…..you can see my fabric collection here.

holiday mantel

so that’s what my mantel looks like this holiday season. i love it! it makes me happy.

    Very cute and cheery display! Love it all! I will be using red, black and white this year.
    Once I decide on a color scheme I like to gather up some basic decorating items in those colors from throughout my home, (candlesticks, lanterns, baskets, etc) then I add the Christmas decorations to make it all come together. It’s inexpensive that way and that’s always a good thing!

    So pretty! I love how bright and cheery it is but you still used classic Christmas colors. I love the shutters too.

    Side question – have you ever thought about changing/covering your marble inlay on your fireplace? I have the same thing at my house and I am not sure if it is my style. I am too scared to remove it but I wonder how to change it and do it inexpensively.

      Thanks, Ginger!

      Yes, I want to do something with our fireplace!!! {drives me bonkers} We have the same dilemma. Don’t want to take it off in because we’re not sure how the fireplace is designed and afraid we’d ruin the whole thing. And adding something on top of the inlay would make it really thick and stick out. So we’re not sure what to do either! And the cost is an issue too like you mentioned. Sorry I’m not much help!

      thanks for stopping by!
      happy crafting,

    I love the mantel and the color choice is great and a classic. I just happen to be using the same color story this year. I think that print is so cute with the different fonts.

    I love it. Have a great week!

    Thank you for such Christmas inspiration – I made this today. Doesn’t look as snazzy as yours but so glad to have it in my home.

    Pretty mantel decorations… It is so beautiful and different from the usual ones I see on the blog world. Interesting to see how you use small pieces of fabric for decorations. The fabric banner is beautiful.

    So pretty! I am posting my decor next week. I like off colors, so this year I am using clover green, cranberry, light blue, and silver. Still christmasy but not the traditional colors!

    I can’t see much of the granite, but from here it looks like spiced cocoa with lots of marshmallow cream. ;o) Maybe some non-permanent vinyl (chalkboard, a la The Nester; or dry-erase; or something???), or water-based paint (wash off later), might give you a chance to see what a change would look like.

    Love the mantel, btw. Especially those colors. Great job!
