Teacher Appreciation Gift – Altiods Gift Card holder

Teacher appreciation gift idea - turn an Altiods can into a gift card holder!

Teacher Appreciation Gift Idea

Its that time of year again! With the end of the school year coming quickly, its time to start thinking about how to tell your kid{s} teachers thank you for the awesome school year. My mom is a teacher and I know she appreciates useful gifts from her students. And as I recently learned from this awesome Teacher Appreciation postteachers love gift cards. That way they don’t get overwhelmed with mugs, rulers, and apples. This Altoids gift card holder is useful AND its a great way to reuse something that is normally discarded. And its a great project to get your child involved in making it for their teacher.

Did you know that Altoids tin cans just happen to be the PERFECT size for almost all gift cards?! Well, they are!

Altoids Can Gift Card Holder

turn an Altiods can into a gift card holder! To make this cute little Altoids gift card holder, I simply cut 2 pieces of paper to 2 1/8″ by 3 3/8″ and rounded the corners. Then decoupaged one piece of paper to the top of the Altoids box and the second piece of paper to the bottom of the Altoids box. Make sure to do a coat of decoupage medium over the top of the paper to seal it. Allow it to dry for a few hours and then spray with a clear sealer. Then tuck your gift card inside and embellish away! I used a simple tag and bakers twine for mine.

altoids gift card holder. great for gift giving! Since I was gifting an iTunes gift card in my Altoids gift card holder, I put “You Rock, Teacher” on the gift tag to kind of go along with the theme.

I highly recommend getting your kids involved in making Teacher Appreciation gifts! Its a great way to teach kids gratitude and service. Plus, you’ll have a blast crafting together!
