Yay for fall crafting! Fall is all about textures and coziness, right?! So, I played around with some crochet to get that amazing texture and made this lovely fall wreath using Red Heart Colorscape™ yarn. I just love how welcoming it turned out! #redheartyarns #whileIwasyarning
Fall Sunflower Wreath
Of course I added sunflowers! Sunflowers just make me happy :)
For the fringe, I added different trims and finds for a more rustic look. The Red Heart Colorscape yarn added dimension to my project without having to change or purchase more yarn. Score, right?
This project is great for all crochet skill levels. Its quick and easy!

Supplies:
- 13″ Wood Embroidery Hoop
- 1 Skeen Red Heart Colorscape yarn in Munich
- Size I or 5.5mm Crochet Hook
- Glue Gun
- Scissors
- Yellow Felt
- Brown Felt
- Green Felt
- Assorted trims: hemp twine, cotton rope, ric rac, etc.
Step 1: Crochet a chain of 6 stitches. Then, using a Single Crochet stitch, continue crocheting until you create a piece that measures about 30″ long. {NOTE: your piece will only be 5 stitches wide- the 6th stitch is for your turn} *Do not tie off.
Step 2: Wrap your crocheted piece around the embroidery hoop and use a Single Crochet stitch to secure in place. When you get to the end, tie off and trim yarn ends. If needed, pull the crocheted piece around the embroidery hoop to center it. Also, twist it so that the stitching you did in Step 2 is tucked away to the back of the wreath.
Step 3: Cut a good pile of yarn and a few assorted trims to 11″ lengths. Then, hot glue to the back of the wreath over the stitches you did in Step 2.
Step 4: Cut a 2″ x 11″ strip of brown felt and 4 leaves from the green felt. Then cut 3 sizes of sunflower pedals from the yellow felt. My pedal sizes were roughly 1.25″, 2″, and 2.75″. You’ll notice that I also cut a couple notches in the ends of a few pedals to help them look more real.
Step 5: Fold the brown strip of felt in half and hot glue in place. Then, every 1/4″ inch, cut a slit on the rounded side of the brown felt. Roll up and hot glue to secure. Starting with the smallest pedals, hot glue them around the brown felt center. After going all the way around with the smallest pedals, add the medium pedals and then the large pedals. Repeat until you have 3 sunflowers. Then, hot glue the 3 flowers to the front of your wreath over the tassels.
Finally, hang and enjoy your pretty DIY Fall Wreath!
