ruffled drop cloth Christmas tree skirt

ok, this project rocks my socks off. no lie. i’m totally in LOVE with my new Christmas tree skirt!! hello beautifulness. it turned out 20 times more awesome than i imagined in my head. {and that doesn’t always happen….} this is all thanks to Laurie, an avid Craftaholics Anonymous reader, who gave me the brialliant idea to make something using a painter’s drop cloth. i fell in love with the idea, but didn’t have the right project for a drop cloth…..until last Sunday. we were putting up our Christmas tree {yeah, we were a bit slow dusting off the tree this year} and a light bulb clicked in my head….and i knew exactly what i would make using a drop cloth.a Christmas tree skirt!

and it couldn’t be just a regular ol’ skirt, it had to have ruffles. it had to. it’s totally shabby chic and earthy….and ridiculously gorgeous.
but the absolute best part is, it is really, really easy to make. and yup, you guessed it, i will be writing a tutorial for this lovely tree skirt :) {you know i luv ya right?} i will try and get it written asap with christmas just around the corner, but i can’t promise anything with a 2 month old and a just turned 2 years old around :o)

happy {holiday} crafting!

PS only 17 days left till Christmas! yikes.
