My Newest Fave…Gelatos®!

This post is brought to you by Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft®. As always, all opinions are 100% my own!

Ok friends, if you’re looking for a fun, versatile crafting medium to play with, you HAVE to try Gelatos®! Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® sent me some Gelatos® to play with and oh my, they are my new favorite thing!

Gelatos® Art & Crafts

Watercolor Antlers with Flowers using Gelatos® pigments

Gelatos® are the cutest little acid-free pigment sticks that glide on creamy smooth. They can be blended with or without water and are  so easy to use! Gelatos® have rich, vibrant colors or watered down for more muted colors.

Here I used some Gelatos® like water colors {I love to watercolor!} and painted a pretty antlers and flowers art piece. I simply used a wet brush and rubbed the top of the Gelatos® to get some pigment. Then I painted on watercolor paper that I had leftover from the Michaels Makers Summit this summer.

Hand painted antlers and flowers art

I love how my antlers turned out! It took me about 4 tries to figure out how to paint antlers that didn’t look like sticks! lol {Davis can attest to all the wasted paper!} I did learn to paint the flowers first and then do the antlers. Live, craft, and learn, right? ha! {I’m a novice painter}

And for the record, painting 2 antlers to look the same is difficult….Really difficult!

Now Gelatos® come in a wide variety of colors.

And yes, they sort of look like lipstick! The Gelatos® size and creamy texture along with their awesome blendability, make them easy to use and ridiculously fun. Check it out:

Gelatos® craft idea :: Stenciled flower

I put a flower stencil over a plain white notecard, rubbed Bubble Gum Gelatos®, Lemon Gelatos®, and Tangerine Gelatos® over the stencil.

Then I used a wet brush to blend the 3 colors and fill in the white spaces in the stencil.

While the pigment was still wet, I peeled off the stencil and this is how it turned out. Very pretty, right?! And look how vibrant and bright the colors are.

Watercolor Halloween Ghoul or Ghost

I also played around with a Coconut Gelatos® on black card stock and made some fun ghoulish images. I was impressed with how well the white showed up on the black.
