happy september 1st! it feels like fall now that it is september! or maybe its because yesterday was the first day to cool off just a little bit. feels great!
anyways, i am going to interrupt my normal ‘thursday giveaway’ routine today to show off my gorgeous *fall wreath*!! i LOVE it! to me burlap screams autumn. i don’t know if its the earthy texture or muted colors, but burlap just feels fall-ish. {is that a word?} i’ve made a lot of wreaths, but i have to say that this is burlap flower wreath is one of my absolutely faves. it is pretty, colorful, and….easy to make! plus i made it so that i can change out the flowers and reuse the wreath for other holidays.
i wasn’t going to post this until next week, but i couldn’t wait!! this burlap wreath turned out so much better than what i’d envisioned it would.
i should have the tutorial ready for tomorrow before we head to the Outer Banks for a week. {luckily Hurricane Irene didn’t destroy the beach house we’re going to. Phew! although they are saying a new hurricane is brewing and might be headed this way next week. ugh.}
so check back tomorrow for the awesome tutorial on how to make this easy interchangeable fall wreath!
**added later: find the tutorial for this wreath here**
i’m getting in the fall mood, are you?

I love this, so simple and fun and looks great. While I am ready for Fall weather, I am not ready for getting out of Summer mode, although I did start cleaning out the dried up stalks in my garden this morning. That was sad, no more tomatoes or cucumbers.

LOVE THE WREATH! You better check before you go on your trip, my friend had a house rented and they had to cancel due to damage in the area and the roads.
Thanks Lauran! we called earlier in the week and they said it was fine. but we are totally calling again today!! {praying they don’t cancel last minute on us!!} oh and hoping we don’t get evacuated with hurricane katia while we’re there. UGH.

YES!! I’m in the fall mood. It is my favorite time of year! I do LOVE your wreath. I can’t wait to make one–and I know it will look great on my front door–because it is the same color as yours! I’m wondering how you hang your wreath? Thanks for your inspiration.
Beautiful wreath Linda! Just wondering where do you buy colored burlap from or do you color it yourself? I do happen to live outside the States… So even websites maybe helpful! I haven’t come across anything like that at Micheals…
Thanks, Alison! I usually get my colored burlap at Joanns or Ben Franklin. If your Joann’s doesn’t carry it, you can buy it on their website :) {although i’m not sure if they ship outside the US….}
