my {crafty} new business cards!

ok, heads up….i am really proud of my new business cards, i won’t lie. they’re pretty sweet. i decided that writing a craft blog meant i needed to have creative business cards. {light bulb} sadly, my previous cards were atrocious. generic. boring……. and so not me!! {i’ll save you from the horror of my old business cards} so are you ready? can you handle it?
creative business cards
now before you say a word, let me walk you through the  coolness of this card…..don’t want ya to overlook a crucial detail or anything…..

1st {cool} factor: you can see a sneak peek of newest blog makeover. {which will make its grand appearance in a week or so}

2nd {cool} factor: i made my very own QR code. AND put it on my card. all by myself. {ok ok, so it was rather easy….} but i love that someone can scan my QR code with a smart phone and be immediately taken to my blog….without having to type in my blog address!! brilliant.

3rd {and most cool} factor: i used strips of selvage {you know, that small strip you always cut off fabric on both sides?}. i’ve been saving my selvage fabric because i just knew i could use it. somehow. i love how the selvage adds that “crafty element” to my cards. AND the beauty of it is, the selvage is already cut into thin strips from when it was cut off the fabric. so it was very easy to add to my cards with a simple, straight stitch.

these fab little cards made their debut at the Sweet Tea Social last saturday.

business cards for a craft blogger
so what do you think? i rather like them…but i’m a bit biased. {and i put some sweat and tears into those thing. haha}

happy happy friday!

    Those kick any generic business cards’ butts. What a cleverly creative card.

    You are right – these business cards have truly gone to the next level. I believe the term is “gone plaid” – – – and now, I feel I must upgrade my own . . . anyone have a great way to recycle the 400ish I have of my now not-cool-enough version?!??!

    1. 37.1

      thanks Cameron! what a fun term! i’ll have to try and use “gone plaid” in a sentence sometime :) thanks for stopping by!
      happy crafting,

    i LOVE these cards!!! super cute, and i love the use of the QR code! (also loved the tutorial you did on it, and i just might have to do the same on my cards!) what a great use of fabric scraps too!!

  36. 43

    Those are so so cute! I LOVE them! What a great idea to use your left over scrap fabric…….brilliant. Thanks for sharing!

  37. 44

    Lovely! Love the way you found to upcycle selvages and little fabric bits…cool.
    I print and sew (directly on the card!) my own business cards and make my own cloth labels too, different for each “collection” i make, because i really believe we handmade crafters should actually look handmade from top to bottom , that makes all the difference :)
