Michaels Makers Summit

Last week I got to attend a special summit with my fellow Michaels Makers. It was a ton of fun! We were treated like royalty and got to learn and create. All set in one of the most breath taking settings in Santa Rosa, California. Here’s a quick recap of the amazing weekend I had!

Here is a group shot of some of the most creative women I know! Yes, I would be the one closing her eyes in the front row, fourth from the right. LOL

Michaels worked closely with a design company to create the most amazing and pretty space for us up in the mountains of wine country. Every last details was thought of, including a bag lunch in the cars that picked us up at the airport to hairbands and lip gloss for us. I tell you, it was THE MOST well done blog event I’ve attended! I was sincerely impressed and honored that they would go to all that trouble for us.

At the summit, we got to take four amazing classes; weaving, watercolor, paper flowers and image transfer that were all taught by Michaels education partner, Creativebug. And guess what… Michaels is offering you, my readers, FREE access to these classes online until August 22, 2015! Go enroll for FREE on Michaels.com!

My favorite was the watercoloring class. I loved how forgiving and fun it was! I plan to make all kinds of pretty home decor on the cheap using my new watercolor skills!

The summit ended with a Q & A with Steve, one of Michaels CEO’s. It was interesting hearing him talk about the Makers Movement.

Thanks again to Michaels for putting on such a fabulous event! I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the Michaels Makers Summit 2015!

Hi! I'm Linda, the craft addict behind Craftaholics Anonymous®, a craft blog. Crafting is cheaper than therapy, right? When I'm not DIYing something, I can be found taxiing around our 4 crazy kids or working out. Or shoe shopping... because you can never have too many shoes! Happy crafting! ♥
