Mothers Day Kids Craft

I made this little polka dot dragon fly for my potted Easter Lilies. They needed a little something!

lilies

You know how they all come with that generic paper on the bottom? {shown above} Well, why not remove it and add something more thoughtful and cute? Especially if you’re giving the lilies as a gift! Plus, this way the kiddos can get in on the fun and the mom/grandma in their life will love having a little something made by them.

Lilies are so pretty.

How to Make a Simple Popsicle Stick Dragonfly

supplies: clothespin, scissors, twine, popsicle stick, hot glue, paper, decoupage medium.

garden craft

1. Use the clothespin to hold about 10″ of twine in place on the pot.

2. Wrap the twine around the pot until you have the desired thickness.

twine craft

3. Tie off the twine with a square knot.

4. Then tie a bow knot. Then tie another bow knot on top of the first bow knot to make 4 twine “wings”. Cut off the excess twine.

decoupage craft

5. I decoupaged some paper to the top of my popsicle stick and glued on googly eyes. But kids could paint, sticker, or glue on pom poms or other decorations on their popsicle sticks.

6. Then hot glue the stick to the center of the twine wings and you have a cute little dragonfly to go with your potted flower gift!
