hello. Wall Vinyl Decal

Hello! A simple hello goes a long way and can always brighten your day. Its the simple things in life, right? So why not incorporate this friendly greeting into your home decor? I did with a little hello vinyl decal.

Hello Vinyl Decal

I positioned my hello vinyl underneath our family portraits in our family room. I think it looks awesome! And it sort of makes the wall more friendly, ha!

I used my Silhouette CAMEO to cut out a simple hello in black vinyl I got from Happy Crafters. The font I used was DilleniaUPC. Love how I can cut any font for free with my Silhouette! Saves me a lot of money instead of buying cartridges for every single cut.

How to Cut Vinyl with a Silhouette

  1. Open up Silhouette Studio. Then select the font tool on the left.
  2. Type in “hello.” and resize as needed.
  3. Select Silhouette Vinyl for your cut settings and load your vinyl into your Silhouette. {note: you do not need a cutting mat to cut vinyl}
  4. Click cut and your Silhouette will cut out your design.vinyl craft
  5. When its done, unload your vinyl, trim off the design portion. Then weed out the excess vinyl.
  6. Place a piece of transfer paper over the vinyl and rub to transfer the vinyl design onto the transfer paper.
  7. Then apply to your wall by rubbing the transfer paper with a stick or the scraping tool.

My favorite tool to use when I use any die cutting tool is my hook. This handy little tool is my crafting BFF! It makes weeding vinyl {removing the unwanted pieces around the design} so much easier. Because I’ll be honest, weeding vinyl isn’t that fun.
