Get Well Soon Card & Lifestyle Crafts Genius Platform

I’m excited to share with you a simple handmade Get Well Soon Card and tell you about the awesome new Genius Cutting Platform by Lifestyle Crafts!

Get Well Soon Card

I made this easy Get Well Soon Card for my little sister who had major heart surgery yesterday. I put this in the care package I sent to her. I was going for a bright, happy card to cheer her up during her stay at the hospital. Hospitals are not a fun place to be, so hoping this will brighten her room up a bit! Plus, those paper flowers won’t wilt and die like real flowers.

Lifestyle Crafts Genius Platform

I used the AMAZING new Genius Platform to cut out the flowers on my get well card. {I have been itching to get my hands on this cutting platform since they told us about it at CHA in January 2012.} Let me just tell you, this thing is awesome!  Its MAGNETIC. That means your die cuts stick to the Genius Platform and don’t wiggle around while you’re trying to pass them through the rollers. Plus it makes it so that I don’t have to worry about losing a die as easy. They just stick to the platform until you take them off. Brilliant! Or should I say, Genius?! haha Umm, yes, it WILL change your die cutting world as you know it!

Another thing that is really cool about the Genius Platform is that it is compatible with other die cutting tools. So even if you don’t own a Lifestyle Crafts die cutting tool, you can still use the Genius Platform with it.

Detailz Dies

how to die cut

The newest line of die cuts from Lifestyle Crafts is the Detailz Dies. This is another pretty awesome invention! These dies cut and emboss paper in one pass through your die cutting tool. Above I used my Genius Platform, Detailz Dies, really thick paper {so you can see more of the embossing}, Genius Cutting Mat A, and my Epic 6 tool.

And with one pass through my Epic 6, I got pretty little embossed paper flowers. That was too easy!

I added some colorful brads to the centers of my paper flowers and stuck them on with glue dots. I stamped a blue tag with Get Well Soon and put it in there with the flowers. That’s my super easy and happy Get Well Soon card!
