LOVE THIS. I've recently fallen in love with felt. Is there anything better?? I made a really beautiful felt flag to wrap my grandma's ashes in (not trying to be Debbie Downer here, sorry!) and I made a bunch of intricate flowers, one for each grandchild, and then embroidered them. It said NANA in the middle with all of the flowers around it. My dad and uncle chose to cremate her before the ceremony so they laid it up for people to walk by instead of her casket. She'll always be wrapped in it. :) It was healing to make it too.
Ca-ute! Just posted about it on my blog! Thanks for sharing!
Hi! Love this! Just have a question…did you freehand it all, or did you draw out a grid beforehand? Also, did you use anything to keep the circles the same sizes, or did you just freehand those as well? I’m a little craft challenged but want to try to make this :)
Hi Jill,
Thanks! I free handed about everything! {i’m one of those that hates pins and patterns! lol} for the circles, i freehanded a small circle of felt and then placed the small circle on top of the felt and cut a little bit bigger circle to make a medium sized circle and then did that again for the large circle.
that probably doesn’t help you! sorry!! you could easily create small circles in word, print and cut them out. If you want to mark where to put the circle flowers, use a fabric marker on your pillow.
happy crafting,
Linda
This is beautiful! I love it. Thanks for pinning it!
I am just learning how to sew, so can you purchase a plain white pillow and then do the felt embellishments ? I have some small discs that I am going to use to make the different sized felt circles…keeping fingers crossed and hoping it works
thanks
Yep, you could get a plain white pillow case and sew on felt circles!
