4th of July Wreath
I love the 4th of July! Its an important holiday and its one of my favorite holidays of the year. So even though my craft room is still literally boxed up from our move 2 weeks ago, I still had to bust out a patriotic 4th of July wreath for my new front door!
My crafting supplies are limited right now because I can’t find anything. Seriously. No matter how much labeling you put on the outside of those moving boxes, you will NEVER find what you’re looking for! I think its a force of nature. This happened with my hot glue gun. It is still MIA although I wrote in big sharpie letters on the outside of the moving box, “hot glue gun”. …It is still no where to be found. Maybe the Moving Box Monster ate that particular box… argh.

Anyways, back to my fab easy 4th of July wreath! Love love love it! I made a couple trips to the Hobby Lobby down the road. {YES! I FINALLY live close to one!!!!} I won’t lie, I’ve already made 3 trips to the HL. I think they should just let me set up a sleeping bag and tent in the back room. Might make it easier for both of us. haha!
4th of July Wreath Tutorial
Supplies:
- 18″ straw wreath
- 9′ red and white striped twill ribbon
- blue stars burlap ribbon
- hot glue gun
- Chalkboard Pennant banner
- 3 mini American flags
Wrap your red and white striped twill ribbon around the straw wreath form. Pull it tight and try to overlap as little as possible. Its a tight fit, but you can make the 9′ work.
Attach the chalkboard pennant banner to the wreath. I did not hot glue in place, just simply tied it on.
Then I tied a simple bow with the star burlap, and hot glued it to the wreath form and glued the 3 flags behind it. Then I hung the wreath with the extra star burlap.
Super easy wreath that looks awesome! Show some American pride and whip one of these up today!

Just curious…did you buy all the supplies including the chalkboard pennant at Hobby Lobby? Love this wreath!!
All but the chalkboard pennants came from Hobby Lobby. I bought those at Pick Your Plum :)
I was going to ask the same thing! I’m thinking I could make the banner out of paper instead, what is pick your plum?

I live in OKC – home of Hobby Lobby. I have been to 3 HLs and the Hobby Lobby outlet (yes, you heard right…) and have yet to find the blue star ribbon! I even show workers the picture and they have no idea! What area did you find it in and can you mail me some? Haha!
Love the chalkboards! This is the most awesome handmade 4th of July wreath I’ve seen, Linda. I want to make it today :) Thanks for all the details and fabulous photos.
Thank you so much, Molly! :) I’m so glad you stopped by today!
Did you get the star ribbon at Hobby Lobby? I can’t find it on their site, went to the store and they didn’t recognize it. How wide is it?
How recently did you buy your supplies at Hobby Lobby? I’m looking at their website and don’t see the blue stars burlap ribbon. Of course, I did find a ribbon the other day in the store that wasn’t online, so maybe that’s the case. Were these ribbons in fabric or the wedding/floral section?
