Castles and Catapults Kiwi Crate + Giveaway

Screen Shot 2014-10-15 at 10.40.58 PMRaise your hand if you have loads and loads of craft ideas running through your head that you are DYING to make? {think Pinterest. ha!} Raise your hand if you have loads and loads of craft ideas running through your head of new, fun crafts for YOUR KIDS to do with you?

If you raised your hand to both, you rock and I am in awe! But if you’re anything like me, when it comes to kid crafts, its just too easy to pull out the boring paint set and play dough and let the kids spend craft time doing the same “crafts” each time. Its easy to get in the same boring craft rut with kids. I would love to have the time to think of and prepare fun, creative crafts that I can do with the kids on a whim…. but then reality sets in and I’m back to play dough and paints. ha!

Kiwi Crate

Well, Kiwi Crate is this brilliant little company that understands how busy us moms are and how we want to spend quality time being creative with our littles. So Sandra, the Founder of Kiwi Crate, thought of the idea of putting together kits that parents can do with their kids to not only be creative, but to also explore and build together. You can sign up for a subscription and get a new crate each month, or you can buy just one crate at a time. We are big fans of Kiwi Crate and have loved every crate we’ve received!

Recently we received the Castles and Catapults Kiwi Crate for my boys ages 4 and almost 6. And oh my, they LOVED it! We spent 1.5+ hours working and playing with this awesome crate! Both of my boys were fully engaged and having a blast.

This was a crate that didn’t require much hands on from the parents, so I enjoyed standing back and watching each of them work on their castles and seeing how their different personalities approached this creative task. One boy used every single sticker and flag, the other was picky about what he used and where it was placed. If you look closely at the pictures you’ll be able to guess which is which. :)

I opened up the Castles and Catapults crate on a rainy afternoon and it was the perfect entertainment for the boys. I can’t say enough how much they loved this project! Just building the 3D castles took 45 minutes. Then we still had to build the catapults.

kiwi-crate4 I love how colorful and well thought out each crate is. And the materials they use are high quality. Every detail has been though through, which makes it so easy to have a fun creative afternoon with the kids.

My boys had never played with a catapult before this crate and they are still playing with them days later! Something about launching and shooting things never ceases to amaze my boys haha.

Hi! I'm Linda, the craft addict behind Craftaholics Anonymous®, a craft blog. Crafting is cheaper than therapy, right? When I'm not DIYing something, I can be found taxiing around our 4 crazy kids or working out. Or shoe shopping... because you can never have too many shoes! Happy crafting! ♥
