Paper Bird Ornaments and Gift Topper
Need an easy, elegant gift topper that also doubles as a handmade Christmas ornament? I’m sharing this easy Paper Bird Ornaments and Gift Topper today! I originally shared it over at the Crafting Chicks fun holiday event. You can make a bunch or just one. These would make a great handmade Christmas ornament for kids too! Just make sure to use a low temperature hot glue gun with kids and always supervise them while crafting.
Simple Paper Bird Ornaments Tutorial
Supplies:
- Christmas Scrapbook paper
- Silhouette CAMEO
- Hemp twine
- Adhesive roller
- Glue Gun {not pictured}
- Cut a bird silhouette shape out of the Christmas paper with a die cutter. {I used my Silhouette CAMEO} I used Silhouette Studio shape #15331. Then I cut a mirrored image to put on the back.
- Then cut about 8-10″ of twine, make a loop, and hot glue it to the back of one paper bird.
- Apply adhesive to the back of the mirrored bird and press to the wrong side of the first bird so that you sandwich the twine in the middle of the 2 paper birds.
- If your bird has a wing, glue on the wing with the adhesive runner.
These cute paper bird ornaments can be dangled on a holiday garland or hung on a Christmas tree.
Or you could add these pretty paper birds to a gift for an elegant gift topper!
Here I layered the calling bird ornament with a piece of greenery I snipped from my yard, a kraft paper gift tag, a clothespin, and some lace tied into a bow. Super easy and so stunning!
How would you use this pretty paper bird ornament? Would you use it as a gift topper?
