Happy Tuesday, Crafters! Hope your week is going nicely. I finished my 4th of July wreath yesterday and its totally cute!! Its shaggy, patriotic, and adorable! Oh, and its made from t-shirts. Yep, another use for all those tees laying around!
4th of July Wreath
I think this wreath would be really cute made with white t-shirts too! AND whether you use white or red shirts, you can reuse it as a Christmas wreath AND a Valentine’s Day wreath!! {love it when i can reuse holiday decor!}
Plus this is a great craft to get the kids involved with… {since they’re out of school and all!} …they can help tie on the fabric!
T-shirt Wreath
Isn’t it funky? The t-shirt material makes a fun texture for a wreath.
How to Make a Wreath from a T-shirt
supplies: scissors/rotary cutter, spray paint, t-shirts, wreath form
- I used 4 t-shirts to make my wreath, but you may need more or less depending on the size of the shirts you use. I snagged these for $1-2 each at the thrift store.
- I recommend using cotton shirts that have 4-6% spandex or lycra in them. This gives them some stretch and also helps the material hold its shape on the wreath.
- I used a 14″ rounded STYROFOAM™ Brand Foam wreath form.
- I spray painted the wreath form red to make sure that the wreath form didn’t show through the t-shirt material.
- Trim off the bottom hem of the tee. Then cut 1″ strips across the bodice of the shirt.
- Then cut the 1″ strips into 14″ lengths. Try to trim out as much of the side seam as possible.
- Tie the strips onto the wreath form using a square knot. Bunch the strips together as you go and keep adding until you cannot see the wreath form any more!
I then made 3 sweater flowers with fabric button centers and hot glued hair clips on the back {similar to my Interchangeable Wreath} so that I can swap out the flowers for other holidays.

Don’t ya love a good repurposing craft? I sure do! This wreath looks fab on my black front door!
