Happy Happy Friday!! Remember those Zipper Shamrocks from the other day? Well, I was looking at the zipper pulls trying to decide what to do with them, and ya know, they’d make some really cute Zipper Earrings!

green zipper earringsKinda funky and fun, right? They make a great St. Patrick’s Day accessory, too.

It’s like a blast from the past! We used to have zipper earrings when I was growing up. And zipper necklaces that actually zipped up. I always wanted a necklace but was never cool enough. he he he

    Hi, Linda,

I got our kits last week, and we’re working on the earrings today. I’ve never worked with E6000 before, but was reading the instructions. Do I need to scruff-up the earring backs or zipper pulls? Or is that not necessary? I don’t want to damage the pieces before I even begin, but I want to make sure that these will work. ;>

      Hi Stacie,
No, you do not need to roughen the zipper surface. E6000 is basically super glue and it adheres very well. All you need to do is make sure the surface is clean and use a small dot of glue and then allow it to dry lying flat. Let me know if you have any more questions!

      1. Hi Linda,
What size earring post did you use for the zipper earrings?

Where did you find E-6000? I haven’t been able to find it in my local craft shops.

      Hi Anna,
JoAnns, Michaels, and Ben Franklin carry it. You can also use super glue, that works well too.
      Hope that helps!

Where do I buy the zipper pulls from?

    1. 12.1

      Hi Corrine,
I cut apart zippers to make zipper flowers or other zipper crafts and had the pulls left over, so I used them to make earrings :)
      Thanks for stopping by!

Must be something in ‘our’ name cuz I am also a craft addict. I don’t always accomplish a lot (due to issues with my hands & being a caregiver to my husband), but I keep on buying things I plan on doing one day. My husband asked why I keep buying things, and for a long time I couldn’t come up with the real answer myself cuz I have A LOT of STUFF! Then one day, it dawned on me – If I stop buying ‘things’, that means I have lost HOPE – the hope that one day I will be able to make things agsin. I won’t give up that hope. Thank you for this idea cuz it looks like something I might be able to do. Happy crafting to all!
