Washi Tape Trees

Are you a washi tape hoarder like me? Need a fun holiday way to use some of that pretty little tape? {so you can buy  more?! haha} Well, these washi tape Christmas trees are just for you! Super quick and easy, and they look totally rad!

And yes, I LOVE polka dots, so of course I used lots of polka dot washi tape for my trees.

I can’t wait to incorporate these cute washi Christmas trees into my holiday decor! I am not decorating for Christmas yet…..although I will admit, my Christmas tree *just might* be up already! hehe But I have a good reason! :)

How to make Washi Tape Christmas Trees

how to make washi tape christmas trees
1. Supplies:

  • washi tape {of course!}
  • 3 paper mache cones in 3 sizes {mine are 7″, 10.5″ and 13.5″ tall}
  • white paint {I used spray paint}
  • scissors {optional}

2. Paint your paper mache cones white. It took about 2 coats of spray paint for mine. Make sure they dry thoroughly.
3. Then apply your washi tape starting at the top point of the cone and go straight down. Then you can tear or rip your washi tape. If there is any excess, you can wrap it around and press it to the inside of the cone.
4. Continue applying the washi tape until your cone is completely covered.
Easy peasy!

It seriously takes like 15 minutes to make 3 washi tape Christmas trees. This would be a great Christmas craft for kids too!

    Could put lights in bottom so they light up ??

    1. 2.1

      The cones are made from paper mache, so you’d have to cut holes in them for the light show.

    How many rolls of washi tape did you use per tree?

    1. 3.1

      I used 1 roll per tree. The largest tree used up almost the entire roll, the other 2 had plenty of left over on the roll. Thanks for stopping by, Kami!
