Tutorial Week Day 5: Happy Black Friday!! As you are reading this, please think of me with black circles under my eyes, holding a ton of shopping bags filled with *awesome* deals, and a big grin on my face. (as long as I don’t get trampled, that is…) Sigh. I heart Black Friday.
Anyways, this is the last tutorial of Tutorial Week. Wahoo! These fabric filled vases probably don’t take any explanation, but I’m going to explain anyway…. because it is still Tutorial Week, at least for one more day. :)
Supplies:
- Glass Vases
- rotary cutter (or scissors and a yards stick)
- scissors
- plenty of scrap fabric (double sided fabric would be ideal)
- empty paper towel rolls
Cut your fabric scraps into thin strips. About 1/8″ wide. Get all kinds of colors
Mix your fabric strips to blend the colors.
Cut your paper towel roll down so that it’s a couple inches shorter than the top of your vase.
Then place the fabric between the vase and the paper towel roll.
I’ve seen this done in very large vases and it looks awesome! But large vases can be pricey. These vases were from my wedding. It probably would be nicer to have another glass vase for the center instead of the paper towel roll, but I’m all about saving money and repurposing if I can. So that’s what I did.
