Thanksgiving Burlap Banner :: Gather Burlap Banner
Printing on burlap is fun and easy to do! And it makes this banner a breeze to make. Especially with my Free Gather Banner Printable!
A Thanksgiving Burlap banner fits right in with any style of Thanksgiving decor and can go about anywhere. I love to use banners on shelves, vignettes, doorways, mantels, curtain rods, and draped on walls. Where do you like to use banners?
*Just a heads up, printing on burlap is not recommended in the owner’s manual, so keep an eye out in case it jams! Luckily, I had no problems and it turned out just fine.
Ok, are you ready for the easiest banner you’ll ever make?? Here’s how to make this
DIY Thanksgiving Burlap Banner Tutorial
Supplies:
- Burlap
- Freezer Paper
- Scissors
- Iron
- Hot Glue
- Twine or string
- Printer {I used my gold Canon PIXMA MG7720 Wireless Photo All-in-One Printer. I have found this printer prints really well on burlap!}
- Cut two pieces of Burlap and two pieces of Freezer paper to 8.5×11. {Want to learn how to cut burlap straight + other burlap tips? Check out this post!}
2. Place the SHINY (smooth) side of the freezer paper on top of the burlap and iron for 10-15 seconds in each spot. I use my iron on Cotton Setting, no steam.
3. Then load your Freezer Paper/Burlap combo into your printer making sure that the burlap side will be printed on. For my Canon PIXMA MG7720 Wireless Photo All-in-One Printer, I have to place my burlap face down.
4. Then print the Gather Banner file on your burlap.
Notice there are cut lines on the printable! Makes this banner super easy to make :)
5. Carefully peel off the burlap from the freezer paper backing.
6. Cut the letter pendants out using the cut lines.
7. Hot glue twine to the back of each pennant to create your simple Gather Thanksgiving Burlap Banner!
Isn’t it cute?! And if you don’t want to print the banner on burlap, you can totally print it off on colored paper or even cute scrapbook paper! I hope you’ll use this free banner printable!
