Silhouette Glass Etching Promo + Portrait Giveaway!

Monogram Soap Dispenser

Glass Etching has been one of those crafts I’ve been meaning to try for ages. I did a faux glass etched vase, but it just wasn’t the same. So I was excited when I heard that the next Silhouette promotion was going to be glass etching! I whipped out some etching cream and attacked every glass object in sight….ok, only two. {I’ll show you the other glass etching craft I did very soon.} But seriously, this is cool. And really not as hard at all!!

Glass etching is so much easier than I thought. Its really easy and doesn’t take long to do and I had fantastic results! I added a simple monogram to a pretty soap dispenser. Its always fun to customize things! Etched soap dispensers would make an AWESOME handmade Christmas or wedding gift idea! {who doesn’t need soap, right?!}

*In case you’re wondering, the font I used was My Own Topher. :)

What is a Silhouette?

Silhouette is an electronic cutting tool. Similar to a home printer, it plugs into your PC or Mac® with a simple USB cable. But instead of printing, it uses a small blade to cut paper, cardstock, vinyl, fabric, magnet sheets, heat transfer, and more up to 10 feet long. The machine also boasts a quiet motor and the ability to register and cut printed materials.

Silhouette has 2 different models, the CAMEO and the Portrait. You can read my Silhouette CAMEO review here and my  Silhouette Portrait review here. If you’d like to see what your fellow crafters are saying about the Silhouette vs Cricut, this is a great post.
