Patriotic Tin Can Organizers

Can you believe Independence Day is Tomorrow? Crazy, I know! This summer sure is flying by. Well, if you’re in need of some last minute organizers for your BBQ and 4th of July parties, these tin can organizers are for you! Grab some burlap and tin cans and whip these up in no time for a patriotic way to organize party supplies and the like. Plus, its a great way to reuse those tin cans instead of tossing them.

Tin Can Organizers Tutorial

Supplies:

  • Scotch® brand Double Sided Adhesive Roller in Stars
  • Scotch® brand Multi Purpose Designer Series Scissors
  • 4.5″ wide Patriotic burlap wire ribbon
  • White spray paint
  • tin cans
  • fine red glitter
  • round chipboard tags
  • twine, ribbon, or string
  • pen or fine tipped marker

Turn tin cans into festive 4th of July decor! Organize your party supplies or even put fresh flowers in them. 1. Turn the tin cans upside down and spray paint the exterior and bottom white. Takes 1-2 coats. Allow to dry thoroughly.

2. Using the Scotch® Multi-Purpose Designer Series Scissors, cut a 9.5″ length piece for each can.

3. Apply the Scotch® Double Sided Adhesive around the top and bottom of the can.

4. Press the burlap ribbon onto the can and use extra adhesive where needed to secure the burlap in place.

5. Run two strips of Scotch® Double Sided Adhesive Roller in Stars on the circle tags leaving a gap between the strips to label the utensil holders.

6. Over a cookie sheet, sprinkle red glitter over the adhesive stars and brush off the excess glitter.

7. Using a pen or fine tip marker, write on the tag what utensil {or other party supply} will be held in the can. Then using twine or ribbon, tie the circle tags around the burlap and knot with a bow on the front.

    Do you mind sharing the brand of this ribbon? You’ve posted several fun crafts with this ribbon, but I haven’t been able to find it. I checked Walmart to no avail, thank you!

      My husband found it at Walmart at the beginning of summer in the seasonal section. I looked for it a few weeks ago to see if I could get more, but they were sold out. I’m thinking it was a popular item and sold out quickly and since it was seasonal, they aren’t restocking it. :(
