Nautical Mantel

Happy Tuesday, crafters! I have been dying to do a nautical themed mantel this summer and I finally did it! Nautical is trending big time and I’m loving the trend. Plus, we’re going on our annual family vacation to the Outer Banks in a couple weeks and I am like a little kid waiting for Christmas! Our week at the beach is a highlight of my year :) So remember my 4th of July Stars and Stripes sign? Well something just might look familiar…

Don’t you love the navy and white stripes from my 4th of July Mantel on there? It transitions so well to a nautical theme and anchors the design nicely. {yes, pun intended} I used a mix of new and old items along with a couple new nautical crafts. I made the nautical float “wreath” on the left and the anchor frame on the right.

I used my Silhouette CAMEO to cut a small white vinyl anchor and layered it over navy and white striped scrapbook paper. Then added my 4th of July paper bunting across the top. My red tinted mason jar with some faux flowers added some soft texture to the mantelscape.

This is Davis’s prize sea shell he found last year at the Outer Banks. The color and swirl are perfect and I love that its weathered and chipped! Adds character to the decor.

Nautical Decor

The blue tin is full of sand dollars we collected in San Diego right before the tsunami. We took them to the hotel and washed them in our bath tub and oh boy, did our hotel room REEK! lol Fun memories.

Are you a fan of Nautical decor?

happy crafting,
