I am so excited to give you a tour of my new Craft Room! We moved into a new house this summer and I claimed the extra bedroom for my craft room. At first this bedroom was the “catch all” room and complete train wreck {as you can see in this before picture.} After months of planning and many hours later, I created my dream craft room. {see my inspiration board here}
Welcome to My Dream Craft Room
I LOVE it! Isn’t it gorgeous? I love the yellow chandelier. killer. {$3 find at the thrift store + yellow spray paint} and my crib spring turned inspiration board. perfect. Gray stenciled wall. to die for. And the most drool worthy craft room storage boxes from The Original Scrapbox. amazing. This my friends, is a dream come true for me!

In case you didn’t know, I’m a fabric hoarder. There is 60+ yards of fabric on the rod alone. {yes, i have my fave fabric shops on speed dial. haha} Davis made the bottom shelf unit from an old book shelf we found on the side of the road. we turned it on its side, added cubbies, and painted it white. {more details on this transformation to come.}

I heart these colors.
This is the Sewing Box from the Original Scrapbox. This little box of magic unfolds into an amazing sewing station. It fits both my sewing machines and some storage.
Some of you may recognize that blue chair from this post.
I have the EZ View Desk in the center of the room with 2 upholstered bar stools {more on those later}. I also got the extra set of drawers to make the desk higher {who doesn’t love a few extra drawers!} it makes the desk the perfect height to stand at and work. Oh and the see through top is very handy!
I think this is my fave work station. The Work Box is such an awesome piece! Its rather large, but it holds SO much! I love how it has so many different sized cubbies + a small table. This is the perfect place for my Cameo because there is a small hole in the back so I can plug it in. So now all I have to do is hook up my laptop and cut away! And icing on the cake, this box is on wheels and is really easy to move. {I moved that large hunk of awesomeness all around the room….by myself…..to determine the exact right spot for it. no lie.}
And lastly, the Craft Box. This is a great storage box. It is smaller than the Work Box, but it also has a pull up table top and holes in the back so that you can plug in your crafting tools. {glue gun, cutting tool, computer, etc} This box is not on wheels and so its harder to move around than the much larger Work Box. And I wish this one had a few more bin sizes. This is an excellent storage box, I just think I prefer the larger Work Box because its easier to use and has more options for storage.

I gave my old crib spring a fresh coat of paint. Now i am using it as my inspiration board to hang pictures and items that inspire me. This corner of the room is my fabric cutting station. I love all the great natural lighting in this corner. Its great for taking pictures for all my tutorials. The white desk is my original craft desk that I started out with. I got when we moved to Viriginia 5 years ago. The turquoise dish is an vintage pyrex dish. {love the colors of vintage pyrex!} You’ll notice i have a few of them around the room.
I adore vintage dishes! {remember my milk glass plate wall?}
I was stumped on how to organize my ribbon. Half of it was on spools and half of it was not. Thanks to the lovely ladies on Craftaholics Anonymous Facebook page, I found the perfect way to store my ribbon. {check this comment thread for some great ideas and links!}
I just love being organized. It is so refreshing! After the chaos of moving this summer, its rejuvenating to finally feel organized and know where all my crafting supplies are.

I tried to use my crafting supplies to decorate my craft room instead of hiding them all away. I feel that the colors and textures of my crafting supplies are an asset to the room and help inspire my creativity.
I am planning to do a video tour of my craft room over Thanksgiving so you ladies can get a real visual tour of the layout. Just looking at pictures can be difficult to get a real feel for a room, so I’m going to try my hand at making a guided tour video. we’ll see how it goes! lol
CRAFT ROOM SHOUT OUTS: First, I want to thank Davis {the hubster} for all of his help and support in making my dream craft room a reality. He spent hours along side me working in my craft room. And for the record, he stenciled that gorgeous wall. all by himself. I love that man!
Second, huge thank you to The Original Scrapbox for providing me with the most amazing storage boxes known to crafters! Their products are high quality and designed with the crafter in mind. huge fan here. keep reading for a chance to win one of their products!
Third, thank you to my good friend, Cara for taking most of the pictures in this post. The dismal cloudy day + my old camera would not have done this room justice.
Watch a video tour of my craft room.
disclosure: i received free products from The Original Scrapbox to review. i was in no way obligated to give a good review. all opinions are 100%. please see my disclosure page for a complete statement.

Hi… I receive your e-mails regularly, but this post really moved and inspired me, I went up to my attic, where my crafts room was designed to be and it honestly, as I looked around, I saw so much potential… now I need to manage my time every day to go up there and start cleaning and organizing. Thank you so much.

Love,love your room! Tell me more about the fabric hanging on the wall. I would love to do that. I collect fabric!
Thanks for stopping by! I hung a curtain rod {a sturdy one. i got mine from ikea} on the wall and then I bought a ton of the curtain rod rings that have the little clips at the bottom. so i clip the fabric to the ring and hang on the curtain rod. does that make sense?
happy crafting,
linda

All I can say is WOW! Absolutely beautiful and so organized.
We have a very small room we used for storage for the past year in our vintage new-to-us house that I am trying to turn into a craft room/photography room/office space. (First purchase was credenza with a fireplace so it will feel like my little getaway space.)
I am looking for inspiration on how to utilize the space and boy! this craft room shows how to decorate a fully-functioning space that works and looks magnificent. Thank you for sharing the photos and information. Absolutely fantastic.
Thank you, Teresa! Have fun creating your creative getaway! i’m so glad you stopped by :)
happy crafting,
linda
