I’m all about mixing prints! Especially when it comes to sewing for my kids. So when I was at the SNAP Conference this spring and they had this gorgeous navy floral and bright yellow polka dot fabrics for us to play with in the shorts class {hosted by Dana}, I knew I had to make some Mixed Print Shorts for my little Miss D! The prints go together so nicely, I just had to do it. These cute little shorts are perfect for summer, don’t you think?
PSST…did you know shorts are really easy to sew? And you don’t even need a pattern to make them! Check out this post to see how to sew shorts without a pattern. Whip up a new pair of shorts for your kiddos today!

Mixed Print Shorts
To make mixed print shorts, I simply cut the front pattern pieces out of one print {navy floral} and the back pieces out of another print {yellow polka dot}. Then I sewed them as normal and they turned out so cute!
Isn’t she so cute in her mixed print shorts? I love the white peter pan collar shirt with the busy shorts.
These shorts were fun to sew! I love mixing things up when I sew. It makes it more interesting!
Have you played around with anything fun with your sewing? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!
