Football Craft: DIY Candy Pouches

Happy Football Season! Are there some football fans out there?? Any tailgaters? Well, here is a simple football craft for the kiddos to enjoy while watching the game or have fun handing out to teammates….Football Candy Pouches! {okay, so these are totally adult approved. adults need candy too, right?}

Football Craft Candy Pouches

So cute, right?! These little footballs are fun to rip open to find some goodies waiting inside just for you. They hold just the right amount of candy in an easy to hold pouch.

And you can even get the kids involved with making these pouches. They can help you fill them with candy and if they’re old enough, let them sew the paper together. {sewing paper is a great way to learn how to sew!}

Another idea: Instead of filling with candy, you could put glitter or confetti in these little pouches for fun twist!

How to Make Football Candy Pouches

such a fun football craft idea!

supplies: brown card stock, sewing machine, white marker, candy/glitter/confetti, scissors or die cut tool {I used my CAMEO}

1. Cut 2 football shaped ovals out of card stock for each candy pouch. Mine measured approx. 6 inches long by 3.5 inches wide. I used my Silhouette CAMEO to cut my ovals, but you could very easily print out a template out on your computer and trace and cut them out by hand. {another way to involve the kids!}

2. Use the white marker to draw lacings on the footballs.

3.Take 2 footballs and sew them together, but leave a small opening on one side so that you can add the glitter/candy/confetti. Note: Make sure you back stitch even when sewing paper. Fill with candy/confetti/glitter. Be careful not to over fill because it will make it hard to sew shut.

5. Sew the opening closed. Take these mini footballs along with you to your next game! These will help keep the kids entertained and make it fun for them!

What a fun easy football craft idea, right? These would be fun to make for your child’s football teammates or for their families in the bleachers. Or how about party favors for the big game? Ok, so these are perfect for any football related event! And you could even change up the shape for any about any sport. {baseball, soccer, volleyball, etc}

happy crafting,
