Family Room Picture wall update

Hey hey! Happy Thursday! Usually I post a new giveaway on Thursdays, but I’ve posted a few bonus ones lately, so I thought we’d take a break and show off what I’ve been working on in my family room….our picture wall!

Family Picture Wall

So you’ll notice there’s a large new element, the awesome piece below the grouping to anchor them. Its actually a shoe holder from Ikea. no joke. But its perfect! Its the perfect height, width, thickness, color, style, etc. Plus, it has storage. And you won’t believe whose idea it was to buy this…..Davis! Yep, occasionally my man has some decorating skills!

family picture wallI am a really slow decorator.

I like to live in a space and play around with different layouts and colors…. and then live with the changes for a bit to make sure I like them. {anyone else do that?}

That little piece completed the wall! I love the extra storage and a little shelf to decorate.

Vinyl or Ribbon?

black and decker lazer level

When I posted previously about my grouping, I forgot to mention that the straight line under our name is actually not vinyl. Its ribbon. Yep, its cheaper and if I didn’t get it on exactly straight, its cheaper to replace with more ribbon. So I used a Xyron sticker maker to turn a strip of ribbon into a repositional sticker. I then used a Black and Decker laser level to get the ribbon exactly straight. Worked great!

I’ll keep updating you when I finish more projects and decorating rooms. Its amazing how long it takes to turn a house into a home after moving in! {we moved in last July}

When not crafting, I can be found chasing my 2 small {but very energetic!} boys or playing with my new baby girl. Or shoe shopping... because you can never have too many shoes! Happy crafting! ♥

    I love your picture wall! I have a large wall in my hallway, that I want to make into a gallery, but just haven’t started it. I really like your vinyl name quote; and what a great idea to use ribbon! I love your blog and check it daily!

    Hey I’m just curious do your picture frames have glass in the?

      Hi Melanie,
      Yes, my frames do. But the wood frames did not come with them. I stole the glass from cheap frames :)
      thanks,
