Easy Bread Machine Bread
Warm homemade bread is one of my most favorite things in the entire world! When I was little, my mom used to make homemade bread from scratch fairly frequently. She would bake 4-5 loaves at a time. We’d enjoy a couple loafs fresh and she’d freeze a couple to use later. It was a lot of work, but we loved devouring her bread with her homemade jams and honey from my grandpa’s farm. Yum!
I remember loving how wonderful her homemade bread made our home smell. I’d help melt the butter on the tops of the loaves when she pulled them from the oven.
Bread Machine Recipe
Fast forward to today, and I still LOVE a good loaf of homemade bread. Nothing beats it! But I simply don’t have time {or energy!} to make homemade bread from scratch. But I want my kids to have good memories of homemade bread. So I do the next best thing and that is, I make home made bread….with my trusty bread machine! And its delicious!
Of course I use my mom’s bread machine bread recipe. It is hearty, soft, and SO DELICIOUS! My kids love it! {who am I kidding, I love it!} The egg in the recipe makes it so that it doesn’t taste like other bread machine recipes. This one has that homemade taste you crave.
We’ve had several Snow Days here in Richmond, VA and on those cold, winter days, I love making a fresh loaf of bread with my bread machine to enjoy with the kids. {see my Instagram}
Bread Machine Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
3/4 cup Warm Milk {I warm my in the microwave for 30-45 seconds}
1/4 cup Warm Water
1 Egg
2 Tablespoon Sugar
1 teaspoon Salt
2 3/4 cups Flour
2 Tablespoons Salted Butter, softened
2 teaspoons Yeast
Directions:
- Add ingredients in order in bread machine pan. Make sure that yeast does not touch any liquid.
- Set bread machine to Dough Setting and let it work its magic.
- When the Dough Cycle is done, dump the dough into a greased bread pan and flip once to coat the dough in oil.
- Put a cloth over and allow to raise for about 30 minutes and preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- After bread has raised, Bake in a Glass pan: 25-28 minutes; Metal Pan: bake for 30-35 minutes
- Melt additional butter on top, optional.
Yield: 1 loaf of bread OR 1 dozen dinner rolls.
