Easter Egg Hunt

Hey! Hope you’re having a great weekend! I’m popping in to show you some pics of the fun Easter egg hunt we had today. We like to do some “practice” egg hunts before the Easter Bunny comes so that the boys can hone their egg finding skills…..ok, so its a fun activity to do with the boys. I mean, who doesn’t love to find candy filled eggs hidden around their yard every day? ha!

We fill the eggs with candy, money, and little goodies. As a kid, we loved the money filled eggs the most and the ones with the bills were always the coveted eggs….I rarely found those! Anyways, so keeping with that tradition, we used coins and candy to fill our eggs for this “practice egg hunt”. {left to right} G-man, my 3 year old, discovering candy in his first egg. H-man, 1 year old, found an egg all by himself! {ok, so it was on his fave outside toy, but still!} While big brother was inspecting his latest find, the little guy helped himself to his big brother’s basket. lol And a big cheesy grain from a very happy little boy who loves Easter Egg hunts!

sponge bob toothbrushLook! He found a Toothbrush! A Spongebob one to be exact. And he loves it.

In this household, we take oral hygiene seriously. very seriously. Yes, it probably has something to do with Davis being a new dentist, but still. Teaching our kids to brush their teeth is important to us. And with candy filled holidays, like Easter, it is so important that kids brush to get the sugar off their teeth to help prevent cavities.

While on our way home from our date on Saturday, Davis and I grabbed a pair of Colgate Nickelodeon Spongebob toothbrushes for the boys’ egg hunt. We made sure to get extra soft bristles. {always make sure to use soft bristle toothbrushes.  this helps prevent gum recession that can happen with medium or hard bristle toothbrushes} Click here to see all the pictures from our shopping adventure. You can find Colgate on Twitter and Facebook. #EasterSmiles

slug on fingerAfter the boys had finished opening their eggs and testing out their toothbrushes, we look over to find the youngest playing with a slug he found on his Easter egg! It was gross but really funny. I was just really glad he didn’t try to eat it. haha!
